You'll never find me saying a bad word or in anyway demeaning HK's achievements mate, same for all blues. Maybe badly worded, but to me RK represents the biggest winning personality, and desire to win we've had at the club in the last 50 years.

Dr David France said a really interesting thing the other day when he said that Everton he been in decline (apart from the 4 year winning period under HK) for the last 50 years and this was the challenge facing Moshiri and Koeman.

I thought it was a brilliant point and in both we have people equipped to arrest the decline and turn us around.

Did the good doctor forget 69/70 ?

The decline he refers to commenced 71/72 and apart from the glorious mid-80s and the other odd flirtation with the cup in 95 and a couple of enjoyable if unsuccessful Europa campaigns, said decline won't be arrested and turned around overnight.

Koeman (and Walsh) need this season to set their stall out, infuse the club with their beliefs and practices, and then we can start to really build, climb and recover years of lost ground.

Tough game and with players missing, not hopeful but we will see. RK's first game in charge will be interesting to see after Brown Shoes.

McCarthy right wing back?was always hoping we could convert him to another position..Surprised wasn't tried in pre season

Wasn't there a few good seasons in the late seventies though? The problem is making Everton challenge at the top of the table AND being able to sustain it. A tough nut to crack.

And our best football, probably, was 67 - 70. So ever the pedant, I'd say the last 46 years were the hopeless ones! Apart from yada yadda

There was @chicoazul the Gordon Lee years weren't bad, but we just didn't have what it takes to get us over the line.

I don't envy the tasks that Messrs Moshiri, Koeman and Walsh have taken on, but by the same token, I'll be behind them fully as I reckon they deserve full support and encouragement to correct the crap of the last two seasons if not more of the barren periods we've endured.
