I’m in my 50s and can’t recall a game in my lifetime were we’ve struck the woodwork 5 times in one half.

I don’t think I’ve seen any side do it

7yrs past his best...which was only good in short bursts, if he wants to keep playing or stealing wages depending on your view, he's only going down the leagues, with the drop in wages as he goes.
Nobody will pay him half of what we do...and he'll still be overpaid.

Bit needlessly negative, was the easiest game I can remember and we barely needed to get out of second gear

That's praise indeed from the Torygraph. Their sports pages usually read like some Kopite fanzine. It's something we should be used to. The press and media have always been condescending and dismissive towards Everton. They'll find it a little harder to ignore or belittle us now we're good.*

What characterised last seasons team was our collective inability to shift from 2nd to 5th gear unless prompted by a significant boost in confidence, namely a goal! It was the same, to a degree, last night although there were notable exceptions who took their first team chances. This kind of mentality was my biggest concern and surely can't all be down to a lack of confidence.. Fair play to those who stepped up last night and raised Carlos eyebrow and good luck to those who hoping to regain their place in a very impressive new Everton lineup!

....Nkounkou gets my MoM. These games are about fringe players taking their chance and whilst Kean again failed to look a viable option as a PL striker, the young LB looks a real gem. I can see him getting plenty of game time this season and a genuine alternative to Digne.

Carlo's told them to find a new club mate.

I can't see either of them going before the window closes in October. I think sigurdsson is on too high a wage, with 2 years left on his contract. Kean would probably be sold if we got our money back on him,but no one will pay that right now

When you look who we'd have on the bench, these two are viable options for me. At the very least they'd bring energy to the team. Thought they worked well together even though the oppositon wasn't strong.
