DCL Niassé

Everton 3 Rotherham 0
I don't understand the GOT fetish of wanting to play absurdly attacking formations when we are already playing pretty attacking in the 4231 set up we've used so far. What you've got here is really not necessary. We could play these same players but with Davies next to Gana, Bernard at 10 and DCL wide and be just as dangerous without being wide open the other way.

..I agree. I would definitely go with that back four, although i’m not convinced Baines will be dropped on Saturday. For that to happen, Digne will have to look very impressive.

I’d drop Baines alone just to punish him for that stupid push in the box. He’s played well so far this season going forward but been culpable for at least two goals as well.

..I don’t disagree, it will be very interesting to see what Silva does.

Think baines definitely won’t start. Whether you call it being dropped or being rested is another matter.

Hopefully Digne performs so well he becomes unstoppable. No bigger fan of Baines over the years than me but his time is up. Still a brilliant second choice imo, can’t think of many better 2nd choice left backs.

Must be because our defenders are so bad we know we're going to concede so we need to set up to make sure we outscore the opposition.

... Or we have much sexier attackers than defenders.

It's pretty emotional to see favorite two players over the years, Baines and Seamus to preforme like they did in last game...
