Perfect game to get Derby out our system we need to be pumping the fsw by at least 3 goals. Anything less than that is a bit underwhelming.

Also think for the squads development it's important we can manage games by starting quick, get a couple up by h/t. If round the hour mark we're say three up, we can take the likes of Richarlison/Gomes/Sigurdsson off avoid injuries and give some squad players minutes.

This is certainly how the top teams approach congested fixtures against weaker opposition to try and keep the squad as fresh as possible.

In reality scruffy last minute winner at the street end!!!

I really expect us to be going in dry on these and smashing them. It's not about just plucky performances against the bigger teams, we must dominate garbage like these

Also FSW

The top teams have the biggest squads. They play fringe players from the start against the weaker teams - Arsenal made ten changes for the game against Vorskla Poltava.

Yeh I know I just always feel like it’s one we’ll slip up.

Haha same.

For some reason I hate playing them, even though we're a miles better team. Always seem to be dead tight games as well, but that's probably just my memory playing tricks on me.

Might be a thing that when I first started supporting us (or knowing that I did/my Dad decided that I needed to be scarred for the rest of my life) Newcastle were actually a good side.

The Richarlison at CF experiment hasn't worked and we've missed him on the left. I'd put him back for this and bring DCL or Tosun in up front. I don't think any of the new boys who missed the start of the season need a rest, yet, and I wouldn't change much right now. Newcastle are half decent sometimes, but not
often and we should win comfortably. Should, I say.

I mean we've won four of the seven games he's played in that role, and he's scored three goals.

The games we've lost have been United (he won our penalty) and L'Pool (where our defeat had ZERO to do with anything tactical). It worked brilliantly against Chelsea because he was pressing high on their defence and also cutting the supply into Jorginho.

Maybe we've missed him on the left, but the fact is he's played more games for us now as a striker than he has a winger anyway. Against Fulham - the last time he started on the wing - he wasn't exactly brilliant. He was superb in the first half v Arsenal but drifted out of it in the second half. V S'ton and Wolves, was very good.

So I don't get where this idea that the 'experiment' has failed has come from. We've been a far better team in the last seven games than we were before that.

Yes, maybe he is more suited to be a wide forward at the moment and I actually think we could see him there tomorrow, but him playing centrally has in no way been a failure just because our goalkeeper made an error last minute of the derby, mate.

As I've already said, not sure if Bernard will start but that would only be down to fitness. I think he played really well on Sunday and if he's deemed sharp enough to do an hour then he'll play, but then we lose the potential of having an impact sub from the bench (especially if Walcott isn't fit).

Gana is a worry. If he has to miss this one then I'd imagine it'll be Davies coming in, and I reckon it will be McCarthy on the bench over Schneiderlin (although it could be both if Walcott isn't fit).

Lookman in for Walcott regardless of fitness for me. Theo needs a bit of time out now with a load of games coming up. If he's fit, we can have him on the bench to come on.

Back five the same.

The Skunks will undoubtedly be set up for the 0-0 draw. As usual with rubbish teams, we need an early goal to open them up.
