Deulofeu - send him back, there's a lad there from Wavertree he'll never be half the player of.

See ya, Carlos Kickaball.

Few observations from last night.
1. How quickly has Barkley matured, top drawer performance. Imagine how good he could have been now, if he was given more game time towards the end of last season.
2. Anyone think Lukaku tired so much in the second half, due to his lack of match practice. (His last 90 minutes must have been for Chelsea pre-season). I think Martinez keeping him on, will only benefit him in the coming weeks.
3. As soon as fit Piennar must be put back on the left to assist baines. I never thought I would say this we looked more threatening down the right.

4. Deulofeu will be a be great impact player against a tiring defence.
2. He's certainly tired, but remember he needed to escape from the much more effective Williamson. He was at times between the defense and midfield for a good part of the second half.
3. I feel Osman's defensive contribution (and he finally showed that so late in his career) as well as his central presence would be much more useful.

I can only assume "Mikey Fitzgerald" is on some sort of bizarre wind-up with the Deulofeu comments. Either that or he's inhaled a tremendous amount of cowies. Deulofeu is a damn exciting player - obviously will make mistakes but he's bloody young - and will be part of some great goals this season.

Our complacency had next to nothing to do with him.

The first 45 was simply sublime.

It was a media w4nk fest tbh, even our less than inspiring second 45 didnt dampen the spirits.

This is 2/3 months in. Even in Martinez' wildest dreams i dont think he expected things to click so quickly I think he had a good 6 months in mind.

Thats the exciting thing for me. The longer we do this, the better we get at it and the greater the understanding between the players gets...that first 45 is goint to turn into the 90.

Teams are gonna be in for a hiding at times the second half of the season if we have a bit of luck with injuries/suspensions.
