The analysis of Everton was right, no optionsgoing forward and couldn't string 2 passes together. It was quite worrying seeing it from a far on how far apart they were.

We lack movement and someone like pienaar

Jose had a point when he said we're no longer a passing team, we're direct.
Trouble is if you play the direct game, it helps to employ a genuine target man... Rom ain't no target man.

Looking at the lack of movement I think it sometimes becomes an option to hit it long. Hitting it long can work if our players press ready for the second ball, but we don't and it's always coming back to us.

Thought we started much better than in recent weeks, much more compact, defending higher up the pitch, but as the first half wore on we slipped into old habits, defence got deeper and the gaps appeared between the lines.

Poor decision by Stekelenburg to come off his line, but a high class finish it has to be said.

Thought it very telling that Barkley did not appear immediately after the break.

Good substitutions by Koeman in second half, and we looked oh so better playing 4-4-2.Valencia must get a mention, thought he was excellent when he came on, harrying the United defence and pressing them deeper. Holgate just oozed confidence and desire to show what he is capable of. Also praise for Koeman in pushing Gueye higher up the pitch in the second half resulting in the penalty.

Despite being very poor in the first half, particularly Cleverly, we did enough to win the game - encouraging last twenty minutes to take into the Christmas games.

It was back to hoof ball as our midfield of cleverly and Barry was static!

Looking at that distant view on MOTD Joe, the lot of them were. Barry is not there to be moving around but I'd want people coming short for the pass, instead they stood still 30 yArds away. Options non-existent

Cleverly is just useless and should never have the honour of wearing our shirt again

Valencia and Lukaku up front at Watford please... mostly because Rom ain't no target man for the long-ball game.
Holgate at right back or even in the middle as RFM looked ropey at times today.
We have to get a top goalie if not in January, then next summer - Joe Hart ?

Koeman said Barkley was due on in 2nd half but for the injuries......Valencia looked good !
