The ref can’t decide whether the keeper is going to get the ball or not. That’s not why the decision was given. It’s because Sigurdsson was on his backside 2 yards in front of the keeper and the ball was about to hit him until he pulled his legs away at the last millisecond.

How can that NOT be offside? It’s a sickener but as soon as I saw it, I thought it was going to be disallowed.

And yes, you’re obviously of the thinking that we’re somehow hated by VAR and the top sides get preferential treatment, I completely disagree. I think the VAR system is flawed but it’s nonsense to insist we’re somehow penalised because of who we are - all the top clubs have had sickeners this season.

Its not offside because the final touch doesn't come from our player! That's all there is to it. There is no other discussion to be had.

A few times, once when DCL controlled that Pickford kick spectacularly, but didn't receive the ball.

He is somewhat finished/backup at this point, but he's not a deadman ffs.

Digne cant get back in quick enough for us. You can see what he brings immediately you see Baines checking back on a run upfield. It impacts Richarlison too: he has to be everywhere on that left hand side AND get into attacking positions.

How can he stand up and get back inside before Calvert Lewin shapes to shoot? It's a gap of 2 or 3 seconds.

He couldn't have got back onside most likely. He didn't know that when he first went down though. If your team is attacking in the final minutes of a game the last thing you do is sit on your arse in their box. Get up and play asap. It's the lack of urgency.

De Gea had his line of sight blocked.....by someone sitting on the floor. Yeah ok VAR you absolute beauts.
