I see Morgan Feeney has been training with the first team, and with Mina and Jags out he’s the likely CB cover so could be on the bench tonight. He’s the ginger haired 19 year old who’s been captain of our U23s at times, a bit of a stick insect , although bulked up a wee bit, talented but doesn’t appear to be physically ready for the PL yet.
Yeh , but he don’t feel the cold. Proper man him.

This is the perfect opportunity for Silva to play some of the backups/youngsters. Players like Gylfi and Coleman should be dropped to show that nobody gets an automatic place in the starting 11 just because of who they are. A message should be sent that players need to earn their starting place. We've seen too many players who are consistently not performing at a high level. This certainly applies to others than the two I mentioned. Then you've got someone like Andre Gomes, who I feel could desperately use a rest.

Combine that with the fact that we're playing City and taking points off them only helps our most hated rival, this seems like a perfect chance to experiment with the lineup a bit. Silva can always justify it as squad rotation, players needing a rest, etc.

Start searching the treatment room for some players , they definitely need a run out.

I've heard James McCarthy is still a thing.

Saying that has reminded me how much I liked James McCarthy. He was excellent at times, provided that intensity in midfield we're sorely lacking now. Doubt he'll come back as he was though now.
