Well that was a waste of time

Weirdly I enjoyed it more than a lot of games lately , at Least we turned up

He's record with his last three clubs with the free kicks 100% absolves our players of any blame. One mention of the players is counterproductive to the issue. That disgraceful record with 3 clubs in a row really does tell you all you need to know.

It really doesn't, because as a team we have been crap at defending set plays for about five years, including under Sam set-piece specialist gravy chugging Alardyce.

So no, I won't absolve our players of blame. They don't deserve that grace. They deserve just as much stick as the manager for it.

Nobody is currently happy about Everton being crap. But it's not purely down to the manager, imo.

We've been told he's not going anywhere, so let's just see what happens. We weren't bad tonight. The worry is it was probably the best we have to offer.

Biggest disappointment - conceding yet again on the stroke of half time - yet again from a freekick. Why can't they learn not to commit stupid fouls, why can't they defend free kicks and corners. Talk about Groundhog Day.

But our two tallest players (or two of the tallest) in Zouma and Gomes were marking Laporte. Yet Laporte won the header.

Maybe I saw that different. Zouma was static for sure. Gomes was nearest I thought. Tall, yes. Would he out jump Laporte? No. He wasn't close enough anyway. Because of this 'zonal' stuff our players are being lost on the run by the opponent. The opposition are thriving off it. Like Wolves did on Saturday.
I hope our players work it out...but I'm not confident and it clearly hasn't been working for the last few months.

I agree. But we tried man marking for other times and the same issues have come. At the moment it seems a crap hybrid of both and I agree that's on the manager.

But, the manager can't go out and head the ball for the players.

The ball came though Zouma's zone. He should win that ball. Gomes should be tighter to his man. Gana shouldn't give away a stupid foul just like Keane did the other day. They're all muppets and I'm sick of it.

The funny thing is Liverpool’s winner at anfield came from a set piece but won’t be on the statistics as one cos the ball hit the bar then Pickford did his thing

It was looking ok up to December. And then....well you know the rest.
We just can't get it going. Want this season over and re-assess.
