I think that a significant percentage of the negative posters in this thread wanted us to lose! I ask myself why? When expectations fly so high winning is never good enough. You feel vindicated tearing down your own cos you require perfection. It's comfortable being part of a group of like minded people. The ongoing negative narrative gives you purpose. It's far better than the boring alternative of getting behind your mid-table team. I guess it's exciting to moan a lot and that's fine. If it gives you comfort then so be it. I myself have been guilty of all the above. As an experiment I'd love it if a few of you flipped your usual narrative on the head and posted something positive. See how it feels. Does it make you feel different?

Well done Blues, got through a tricky draw there with a team in form from a lower division. Something to build on after a poor run of form.
All my negatively stems from terrible team performances and subsequent losses or draws..

I always want us to win and not once have I ever said or wanted us to lose.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone being critical about our team and manager

What we are being served up is amatuer stuff and it needs to improve and quick or else we will be dragged in to the bottom half scrap for survival

I just watched Marco’s post match interview. He looks and sounds like a torture victim from a gulag. His eyes have a terrified haunted-ness in them. His sentences don’t make any sense.
Truly, Marco had been Evertonised.
Just a matter of time now before the inevitable...
Didn't watch it today. Was Marco the same as after the last game?

Marco needs to get out of his despondency asap. Whatever is causing it needs remedying if there is indeed a problem somewhere.

And how you want to beat TOP 6 teams? Rely on lucky draw?

If you are going to win a cup you need to be lucky in the draw. However, there is no doubt that the value of a cup win has been lessened over recent years and the top teams play reserves. We have a better chance of beating a top six side in a cup match than in a league match.

However it matters little as we can't beat middle order Premier League teams with the players we have so it all becomes academic for the time being.

In his heart of hearts he knows...

He's rooted to his line for every cross/set piece though. It's part of why we're so vulnerable. Nevertheless this goal could have been prevented by a selection of players, but it's just another game where Pickford has no meaningful saves to make but we still concede.

He's definitely not as confident from them as he was, granted. I just think there's more problems with that goal than Pickford. Zouma was awful today. Really, really bad.

....we just need to win. If we are going to win the FA Cup, we will need to beat whoever we are up against, whether it’s Lincoln or Manchester City.

So
I take it you let a lot of goals in as a former centre half - I always expected my keeper to collect anything in the 6 yard box yes I would block ant strikers run, but if your keeper has bostick on his studs .........
He would have got boll@ked...ok

No actually I was quite decent - I always tried to come and claim it when I could.

But sometimes I didn't fancy it, and then if you have that hesitation I was taught it's better to stand your ground than rush out and flap :)

Pickford made the save. We didn't react. It's becoming a common issue. Maybe he should have come out, but if he'd had missed it, he'd have got pelters.

The system for defending in general is likely the major cause of concern. Nothing is changing in that regard.
