I'm not sure who the defensive coach is but we really do need to change them and get a good one in, (Moyes was good at the defensive side of things, Martinez is good at the attacking) Moyes as assistant? Only joking.

....we are conceding too many goals and it's not only from set pieces. The loss of Jagielka is an obvious consideration but perhaps McCarthy's absence is also leaving the back four more exposed than normal.

Spot on Eggs. McCarthy is key to preventing opposition counter attacks getting straight in on our defence. We've missed him so much.

Leicester took their chances (some given to them by Everton ) better or Everton defended poorly at the one end and wasted many chances (again) at the other - whichever way you want to look at it.

Martinez must balance his squad better by playing Mirallas on the left to take some workload off Deulefeu

We need a creative nr 10 more than anything - Kone must be reserve striker on bench

We need to start taking and defending corners seriously - far below par now

Howard should be given a rest - he gets beaten far too easily after making a good save or two

We need to learn from Leicester - they are happy with 40% of the possession but they score 60%+ of the goals in each game - we do it the other way round.

That is all he needs to do for the Newcastle game, Robles and Mirallas in and Howard and Kone out. Most people will be happy he is at least trying to change things. But lets be honest and truthful...ITS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN !!!!
Agree but he needs to make some changes 2 games coming up in 3 days. If Kev does not start in either then I'm sorry that's poor

I think that would both improve the side and send a message, but I don't think he'll do it and I'm losing patience with him.

The team is in a rut and something clearly has to change.

Anybody know if Deulofeu turned up at training today or is he still stuck in Christian Fuch's back pocket?

Enjoy your little blip I look forward to laughing when your back scrapping it out for 15th next season when Mahrez is darting around in a Spurs shirt.

Was Moyes really that good
Think it was more a case of when we got infront get as many defenders on then pitch and hope to hang on
And how many times did we surrender a lead late on
I always used to look at arsenal and they would see out games comfortably with keeping possession and not letting the opposition get up a head of steam

So I think Martinez's way is the right way just at the moment we have 2 young CB's and a [Poor language removed] goalie
And we have poor game management
Arsenal are a very attacking team but keep plenty of clean sheets
Don't get me wrong i know arsenal have spent s lot more than us
We need Jags/Mori as first choice CBs with Stones playing def mid. He's more than capable of developing into that role and it will make better use of his qualities - his gangly legs have a deceptive turn of pace usually into space and can distribute - RM talks about partnerships across the pitch and him with Ross both fetching and carrying from the CBs would add something. We must let the CBs do what they do best and keep away from the possession game akin to the CBs of Leic,Palace who do the simple things well.

Barry gets tired second half, no matter if he has the legs of Mac/Clev with him it forces the team deeper and the game stretches and we invariably concede. Barry has done well this year and I'm not directly blaming him but his phasing out needs to start now

Yesterday one team had more desire , was fitter , moved the ball quicker and was better organised - and it wasn't Everton.

Just re-confirms that having loads of possesion means sod all.

Time and time again Martinez fails to learn.

There is no way Leicester moved the ball better. They played half the number of passes and were less accurate. They played like a bottom half team does against a top team and relied on our ineptitude to get something from the game.

When Deulofeu doesn't turn up there's nothing there.
That's because barkley doesn't do all that much. He controls the tempo of games pretty much by himself, but imo he doesnt realise the effect that a simple run forward on the ball from himself has on the players around him. Opposition stand back, and our players move - so when barkley starts disappearing the whole team goes with him.

Their forward movement was 100x ours and they got the goals and penalties to prove it whilst we did almost nothing but tika taka
