Feel like we are putting too much emphasis on offense, Ghana was everywhere, best game of the season for him. love the dynamic between him and Davies. I can’t wait to see how Barkley is going to fit in if we keep playing a 4-3-3. I don’t think we are going to challenge for the top 4 this season but we should still work for top 6.

Calvert-Lewin, Kenny, Sigurdsson.

Never seen a bigger gang of crabs come to Goodison, by the way. That Mooy in centre mid was their best player and he played about 3 forward passes in 90 minutes. They'll go down and deserve it playing like that.

Long-term Siggi has to play because of the massive investment - maybe because he is good - and probably off the left wing; Bolasie on the right wing.

If Rooney continues to play then the future centre-forward is going to continue to be a solitary, self-employed individual. Calvert-Lewin is actually growing into the job.

..those wins take the pressure off. The reds are super up top so it’s difficult to see anything but a comfortable win for them. I expect we’ll sit deep with two solid banks of four. The longer it stays 0-0 the longer we have something to hold on to.

In a way, Baines being injured might help the cause as Salah will be looking to get in behind all the time. If we play a high line we’ll get stuffed. Their two wide men will cut inside (Coutinho and Mane’s goals last season) so we need somebody to play the Barry role.

We really need to ride our luck. We won’t have much threat going the other way.
Agree with this, defend for our lives deep and hopefully get a few chances with set pieces.
I'd be telling the players to be real snide too, go down and stay down at every opportunity, not pretty but will frustrate them.
Pretty much like Chelsea did in that famous slippy game. We'll still need Lady luck though.

While the 1st half was same old, same old, the second was the best we've played all season. Sam's substitutions were well timed and well thought out. Well done, Blues. More of the same next week would be a very, very good thing.

Love that midfield we have now with Davies and Rooney playing in front of Gueye.

Gylfi and DCL providing more attacking threat on the back of their work.

....the position Sigurdsson took up for the goal is important to recognise. There’s no disguising he’s been disappointing but those who go the match will notice he continually hits the box in those central areas (it’s not noticeable from TV cameras). For yesterday’s goal he gets beyond the CF, it’s been a long time since we had a player who gets beyond our striker.
