So, i've slept on it and i'm over my fume now, last thing i'll say on it is Jags and Distin are getting some serious stick, but Barry and McCarthy need to take their fair share of the blame as well, the space and time Fabregas and Hazard had to pick passes and control the midfield is shocking, of course 2 players like that are going to punish you if you let them. Barry and McCarthy should have been right up in their faces not giving them an inch to pick a pass, we'd never have never given them a 2-0 head start and it would have been a completely different game.
These two bend space & time, we won't face the likes of them again at GP this term.

Bad stat on Sky Sports currently, we've scored the most own goals in Premier League history now, 44.

I bet they enjoyed putting that up there but then again you can't argue with the facts.

Roberto seems to have at least acknowledged that we need to work on our defending in training. Every time the opposition attacks, Jags, Barry and Mac seem to bottle it a bit which is unlike them.

You'd have to say that they need dropping for the next game with Stones, Gibson and Besic given a go, but I can't see it.
My heart tells me that I'd like to give them them chance to play themselves back into form. My head tells me that two of the back four will be part of the boofest at Wembley so may come back to FF even more broken.

Also, past couple of seasons, Howard's had the life of Riley keeping goal behind Jags & Distin. He needs to step up and help out atm rather than displaying the wry smiles I saw when he was picking the ball out of the Park End goal as if there was nothing he could have done.

Just had a quick read on Chelsea Fan Forum 'The Shed', for the most part they are very complimentary towards us and said defence apart we played really well. It was a freak result.

I'm over it no point in dwelling, we'll paste some teams playing like that. Need to tighten up at the back though or the good forward play will be for nought.
Was whatching the game yesterday in Putney full of chelski fans and the same reaction from them as above. We need to cut out the school boy errors and we'll be back bumming teams in no time. You always get the odd freak game a season unfortunatley it was our turn to be on the receiving of one.

If Kev's flick had gone in we'd have drawn the game 5-5. It was one of those annoying things.
Not sure tbh, on the goals to get it to 3-2 and 4-3, we then just backed off straightaway and asked them to score, no pressing whatsoever, literally from kick off too, we didn't get to mount 1 single attack once we were back in it

The defence was dreadful yesterday. Conceding two goals so early on - entirely down to bad defending - and that ruined any gamepaln we had and we had to go all-out attack . That's why the defence looked knackered as Coleman, McCarthy, Baines were pretty much doing shuttle runs from one end to the other all day.

Positives:
Mirallas was very good
Coleman not at fault for his own goal, and had another superb game
McGeady showed glimpses of what he's good at (the run and pass for Naismith's goal)
Eto'o - well, being Eto'o
Naismith really was excellent.
We tore Chelsea apart more than most teams will this year - and could've scored 6 ourselves with a bit more luck or better finishes

Negatives:
Defence
Playing the offside trap against one of the best strikers in Europe with probably the best passer in Europe behind him.
Besic being a daft tit
Lukaku couldn't get into the game as Terry and Cahill were always on top of him. Need Barks back asap to get the best out of Rom
Barry was dreadful 2nd half and Besic/Gibbo should've been brought on after 70 mins (when we scored our 2nd)
We shipped 6 at home

Positives:

Naismith is looking a 20 mil pound player.
Mirallas performance was top class.
Eto´o showed that he´s likely to score for us this season.
The way we kept coming back at them - you can see fitness levels are improving albeit a month too late.

Negatives:

Jagielka all over the shop.
No authority in the defence - who is the leader, the talker?
Barry and McCarthy got exposed when both fullbacks bombed on - not a good idea against a side like Chelsea.

Not sure tbh, on the goals to get it to 3-2 and 4-3, we then just backed off straightaway and asked them to score, no pressing whatsoever, literally from kick off too, we didn't get to mount 1 single attack once we were back in it

In my head I said that it would be either 5-5 or 3-6. It's impossible to argue against such logic lid
