Fitness reared it's ugly head in the last 15 minutes with more goals conceded. However today's fatigue, was more to do with the fact with chasing the game for the majority of the game, then our lack of fitness. I felt we moved the ball quicker and offensively we looked good. You just can't legislate for the way we defended.

Thats actually a good point mate. I felt we tailed off again but unlike the other games we were really having to chase this one so probably didnt help. But christ on a bike Jags and Distin were awful and look even worse after seeing it again.

Cant blame the system either, same system as last season. More the players have decided to become worse. However, going forward we look as good as ive seen us, get the CBs performing the way we know they can and we'll be boss.

Quick point about the first goal : when Distin is running back after Costa gets it why doesn't he sprint over to Costa to try and block the shot or even get a tackle in?

Surely he wasn't that far away he thought covering the goal line was the better option, he was further away from that than he was Costa.

One of many examples of poor positioning and decision making by both Jags and Distin. Concerning.

Who else is there that we could afford? He is greedy but he is also a bloody good player you ask anyone in France and they will tell you techniquely he is one of the best french players in recent years who will offer lukaku more service than Naismith and osman do.

But apparently we are signing remy, isco and Messi who needs Ben arfa when we have bill Kenwright as owner!

your forgetting your first point. Not saying he isn't a good or bad player. You said we need assists and then mentioned a player who provides opportunities only for himself

Never have I felt so positive following a 3-6 defeat.
Same here, just a tad frustrated about the defence , but im seeing so many positives that outweigh the negatives, only thing thats doing my head in are some of the meffs on here acting like we're suddnely going to be in a relegation battle and its all doom and gloom, koff the lot of them

Feel even worse now.

6-3 at home is a frigging disgrace. I dont care it was Chelsea...who struggled against Burnley at home, btw.

It's an unacceptable level of defending.

All told I think we've look disjointed all season. Even the so called great first galf against Arsenal last week they were the team putting together the passing while we relied on helter skelter stuff.

There's no composure and there's no discipline.

This could be a very long season if that backline especially isn't sorted out.

Just watched MOTD and god 2 or 3 of their goals were worst than school boy.

We hit post n had a goal chalked off.

Play him behind the striker and he will put in the through balls, it's when he's played out wide he likes to run at defences and can over do it. For a decent fee for me he's worth the risk providing we also get a CB in

Some plus points to take from this game, but martinez needs to wake up and fast, his inability to act from the bench cost us again, third game in a row, he was quality last season, but this year he has been poor, a qualified physio should be able to recognise when a player is dead on his feet, he absolute refusal to disrupt mccartyh and barry is affecting us, also, stones must be worth a go again now, jags may regain his form but his is a liability at the moment

The thing I can't fathom is that theres nothing different with the system from last season. We're not bombing forward, we're not leaving the defence exposed.

What we are doing is just plain forgetting how to defend. Concentration is gone. Fitness, composure all shot.

Were scoring goals, youll be hard pressed to find a side that'll slot 3 passed Chelsea, but for some reason the players lose all responsibilities and switch off.
