A good side were beaten by an excellent side. It would be super lovely to have world class CB's and a more vocal "up and at 'em" captain but we're stuck with what we've got and, in the end, we'll win more than we lose.

The first start to winning a game is to be tight at the back if your not your in trouble

Just seen the goals on SSN and how was Distan offside when terry touched {Shinned the ball to him}the ball in the build up?
I know every blue is down but boy did they have some luck , and joy v a poor defence today, also TH was lucky not to be sent off twice he caught the ball outside his area in the 1st half!
They played well and had plenty of luck , but we made it very easy for them!

Come on Howard should have been sent off and I think they had a good goal disallowed as well. The referees where abysmal but in the end it didn't really favour anyone.

I thought he looked out on his arse to be honest mate, same against Arsenal last week. Thought he should have brought Besic on earlier and give time to get into the game myself.

Agreed. Thought Barry was outstanding for 70+ mins, but he looked knackered for the last 20. Not much pressure on the ball for those late goals. Why not bring on Besic or even Gibson a little earlier? Ah, the armchair pundit....

From the little of the game I saw...

We deserved any plaudits that might come our way after that game and we can be assured that there will some.

There was very little to choose between both teams for lengthy periods of that game, in fact, I'd go as far to say the difference was negligible - and the scoreline flattered Chelsea.

Our attacking prowess was terrifying at times and our passing is precise with some strong, willing midfielders who bust a gut to get involved whenever we look like we smell blood.

Our defence were a shambles at various times throughout the game - particularly when it mattered most.

I thought he was caught out of position for their first and generally pretty anonymous.

In possession he was good but I'm talking defensively.

One thing is certain...if we set out defending like this in Europe it´ll be a tall order qualifying from the group.

At the moment Naismith looks like the 28m player and certainly not Lukaku, just hope he hits form soon or his head could completely drop !!!

I don't think we would be reacting this way if these poor showings defensively were more spread out. However, with them all being bunched together at the start of the season, it perhaps makes us look worse than we are. Certainly our schedule hasn't helped (aside from Leicester) having us play some tough opposition right away.

Still need to be much better in the future though. What can I say, I'm grasping for positives here :D.

I still haven't digested what happened. Great going forward, but easily the most inept defensive performance I have seen from us in a long time. I was going to call it schoolboy defending but even that would be kind.
