Before the Spurs game Robles had been excellent, he was one of the prems leading keepers, think at one point he topped the charts with his stats. He made a rash challenge yesterday but all keepers do that. Some have been saying we get Hart in, the funny thing is he's made a fair few mistakes at Torino since he's been there that have been posted up on here. So as I say, all keepers make mistakes.

Against Spurs and the RS we were piss poor all over the pitch.
He is a poor keeper and yesterday proved it. The peno was shocking and he was punching when easier to catch.

...it will certainly be a blow to lose a goalscorer of Lukaku's ability but I don't agree that we'd be struggling without his contribution. You find different ways of playing and of course other players will come in. I keep mentioning the mid 80s when we won the league in 85 without Lineker, came 2nd with his massive haul of goals and then won it again in 87 after he left.
Yes mate, it just proves that out of the 4-5 teams with prolific goalscorers this season Everton would suffer the least without them..

Thought it was class the way the Burnley bench and staff all stood on the touchline to applaud for the Hillsborough commemoration - a nice touch from a proper club.

Just seen this on Twitter, first two goalscorers yesterday. Very apt.

Burnley matched Everton in the first half. Everton looked hesitant in the centre of defence, and Burnley made a number of good chances.

11 min Joel needs to be alert here as Barnes sense a chance to nip in on Jagielka's back-pass, but there is just enough on it for the keeper to get there first. It has been a surprisingly nervy start from the Toffees.

17 min OFF THE LINE! Burnley are so close to a shock opening goal, and but for a brilliant piece of defending from Barkley they would have got it! Keane peels to the back post to get on the end of the corner and his firm header beats Robles, but Barkley is there to nod the ball off the line.

35 min CHANCE! Another big opening for Vokes! Jagielka's back-pass to Robles has nowhere near enough on it and two Burnley players are queueing up to race on it to. Vokes takes control, but tries to shoot first time and sends a tame shot straight at the keeper. From SportsMole.

Koeman recognised that he had to make a change. Gueye had been booked. Koeman could have brought on Barry in his place, but made the more adventurous choice of Valencia instead. And this gave Everton the sharper cutting edge they required.

Burnley still managed to expose the centre of Everton's defence a couple of times. Vokes ran through unmarked before Robles brought him down. And Barkley headed off the line again.

Everton are confident at home now, but this was a hard-earned win.
