Next week should be good, Richey may score against a team in the top half. All our favourite players were 'brill' this week, and I thought
B & H was Benson & Hedges.

...18 points at this point is decent. We’re ok but more importantly we’re getting to a point where I enjoy watching us. Early days but a significant change.
It is nice to see that Goodison is getting some of it's atmosphere and charisma back, which has for too long now been muted by shambolic, lifeless football.

Without a shadow of a doubt, if we can continue to improve and play charismatic, high-tempo football then the fans will give the players that little, extra boost.

...absolutely, Phil. There have been lots of negative threads about the atmosphere at Goodison but i’ve always been a believer that performances drive the atmosphere. Horse before the cart, give our fans something to shout about and Goodison is as atmospheric as any stadium in the country.

My main concern around yesterday is that silva stated that they would be dangerous at corners and we still conceded from a corner (the short pass wasn’t closed down enough, and could Pickford have come?) but then also, knowing how big Duffy and dunk are, we continually sent crosses into the box all game. Not sure we won any of the headers but we kept going for it instead of playing it back around and being more patient with it.

5 things:

- Seamus scoring again and that celebration are all great - let's not be petty about his passion

- Filthy, beautiful goals by Richarlison. Absolute class finishes. As of today i am entirely sold on him

- Silva too, there's a sense of elation here now that he sort of feels like he is doing a good job

- Let's try to win at Chelsea away or the like and then we can start gushing. Glass ceiling and all

- Europe is a likely target this year and we'll reach it if we can keep winning like this at Goodison. Well in lads

..i’m not in the least bit surprised about Gomes, Silva was clearly desperate to get him on the pitch. From what’s been said, there’s no deal in place to sign him, I suspect much will depend on the player himself.

Aye, they confirmed no deal was in place on Deadline Day. From a few snippets I’ve read he’s settled in well and loves the club, so at this time - it looks likely we will persue a deal. And, more importantly he will be happy to join permanently.

Not sure when we last won in the league down there, next week for the first time in a long time if we do get a result it wont be as much of a big shock as it might of been over the last decade or so, if we do lse, just like at Old T i can see us at least giving a good account of ourselves
Rideout,1994 Carlin mate,doh!!

Nice words from Hughton at the end of the game in interview for us: "Our level wasn't up to what's needed against one of the top teams - and these ARE one of the top teams".
Not until we start taking points off the top six on a regular basis. It's a dawn let's hope it isn't a false one.
