We aren't far behind Spurs but the gap is pretty big after that. Spurs hit the jackpot with Bale and especially Kane. Getting a player that scores like Kane to come through the system allows them to spend on other positions and not have to throw 50 million at strikers. Realistically there is nothing anyone except United and possibly Chelsea if they spend big again can do about City's dominance short of hope City are mismanaged as bad as United have been in recent years.

Think we're much closer to United than Spurs, really.

It does seem to go underappreciated just how good Spurs can be at their best, although this season they do seem to be struggling a bit for their best form (yet they're still 4th).

We do have one advantage over City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs and United. For the time being, they are all still competing in European competitions.

Meanwhile, we can concentrate on the Premier League and the SportPesa Trophy.

Difficult choice for MOTM

Gomes was very good
Richarlison obviously with the 2 goals
Coleman showing that class is permanent
Keane was very good again, is really nailing down his position

I went for Gana as he was outstanding,

The business done by Brands, visible now everyone is fit, is nothing short of unbelievable.

Digne is better than Baines ever was.
Gomes is just a fine, fine footballer. Genuine world class.
Richarlsion is Brazil's number 9.
Bernard is the creative maestro we've missed.
Zouma is a beast and looks like he's been here for years
Mina still to come...

Was travelling and didn't get to watch the game until I got home last night. What a great performance (the best I can remember since the 4-0 to Man City a couple years back). We had more chances in the first 15 minutes than we had most games last season. Best of all you can see the system that we are trying to play. The pace and intensity is something that has been lacking for so long. Will be interesting to see if we can keep that up next week against Chelsea.

I wouldn't go that far.

...seems a top bloke, I remember the dreadful injury he got on youth international duty with Ireland whilst with us and it’s fitting he’s established himself as a top flight defender after leaving the Blues.

He ruptured his spleen or something didn’t he? Luckily the physio thought something was off and got him straight to hospital, could have died if that didn’t happen. Also seem to remeber his dad posting on here? Or was it bluekipper? Seemed a decent bloke .
