It is annoying how low our performance levels can go after we score or when we’re under pressure. We have some sort of default. Hole mode that just induced panic and we slip into it whenever we go 1 up or concede. It’s like we’re not comfortable with anything other than a draw. Good teams just stride on confidently and hit 3 or 4 once they have a break through at home. We just panic.

I have to say that today I don't think we did that - well, we didn't sit back after we scored.

Our game management in the last 10 was poor. But before that I think we'd looked to put the game to bed. I think there was just clearly caution because we didn't want to go all out and get hit on the break.

Didn't play well at all opening 30. Showed some glimpses at the end of the first half.

For once, came out strongly from the break. It was all very laboured, but at least we go the goal. Desperate at the end and we really need to calm down defensively, what I'd do for some cool heads like Stones and a calming influence like Barry, but overall I think we shaded it purely because we took our chances when they came.

Pickford - 7 - He made a great decision to come out one-v-one and from there he suddenly got his confidence back. Punched out some really dangerous balls late on and was shouting and commanding.
Coleman - 7 - Think he played okay. Attacked well but actually kept Fraser quiet bar that opening 10 minutes.
Keane - 7 - One panicky moment again but overall a solid performance. Great tackle at the end which cancels out his earlier mistake, I reckon.
Zouma - 7 - Thought he was crap at the start but once he settled played well and finally got one of his 50p headers on target.
Digne - 7 - A class act. Defended brilliantly and a fantastic cross for the opener.
Gomes - 6 - Lacked his usual composure and probably was fortunate not to get a second booking. However, how Lerma stayed on the pitch is beyond me.
Gana - 6 - Thought he was sub-par (for him). Fortunately didn't see as much of the ball as he has been doing so less stray passes, but got caught on the back foot a few times.
Gylfi - 6 - Crap in the first half, better in the second. For me he gets a 6 because of his pressing. In the second half, in tandem with Richarlison, he was ace at it. It really, really helps us.
Bernard - 7 - Some lovely touches and worked really hard defensively. Actually looked better on the right I thought.
Lookman - 8 - Man of the match. Only player who showed up in the first half and got the assist he deserved late on.
Richarlison - 6 - Worked tirelessly. We needed a display like that from him. We're a better side with him there, for now.
Very generous to Coleman , Gomes , Sigurdsson and Richarlison me thinks

We can make seventh place if we buy correctly in the next couple of weeks. If we get a centre forward who can score a few goals then Richcharlson can return to the left and hopefully Lookman will come of age on the right. Bernard is a good player to have in reserve. We probably need a right back. If we are keeping McCarthy then he must be showing some promise.

A centre forward is a must at this stage and I feel we are set for the Europa Cup spot, if we don't get a goal scorer in then we will continue to stumble along.

It’s frustrating though that in a season where United Arsenal and Chelsea aren’t anywhere near their best we are still not within touching distance of them and needing a good run of games just to get 7th. Hugely frustrating when you see how close United are now on the back of a bit of good feeling from Solskjaer. Wasn’t that long ago we were ahead of them.

I don't remember begovic making a save or punching the ball out. We got lucky today but we can still build momentum on that. Stunk the park out at times though. The referee stank the worst though today. Some new blood will do us good . Got to be the right quality though, a statement signing would be good I think we need it to be honest.

Our performances are becoming almost Koemanesque of late.

Apart from our 2 goals Ake kicked Richarlison's effort off the line with the keeper well beaten, and Keane heading onto the bar. One of these games he will get one on target. Contrary to popular opinion on here, we have very good players who just aren't clicking together at the moment resulting in wayward passing and odd panics in defense. I'm feeling more optimistic than I was at 2.15!

they've said no already.

extremely baffling if so.

we are nowhere near good enough all over the pitch yet we think as its January its not worth looking into.

They haven't said no, they've said that any arrivals will need to be financed by one or more departures.
