Moyes mentioned that we'd signed Victor Obinna by name one deadline day, similar to the Ever Banega quote a few pages back.

Not quite true in that Georgie signed for us a few weeks before Shilton joined Forest.

We actually tried to sign him twice, or at least both Bingham and Lee wanted him. Everton board baulked at making him the first £1,000 per week footballer. Clough and Taylor didn't. They'd also been interested in Wood but decided to fork out the extra money for that extra class.
