McCarthy was shackled by Martinez. He's much more a box to box midfielder but he was being asked to play the sort of role you'd ask an aging player who doesn't really have the legs anymore to do.

Think McCarthy has also been shackled by Barry, he does alot more of Barry's running then he had to 2 years ago
