Everton. The best team in the city of Liverpool.

Two finals and a cup vs one giant bottling in a semi.

Hard to feel cheery, to be honest.

That said I wouldn't swap our squad for theirs, even with what they've spent!

Give your head a shake lid. They'll be wanting you to dwell on the derby defeats. They lost the final so not a too sad ending.

And despite gifting them six points they couldn't finish above us in the league.

What's our name?

They should be getting to cup finals FFS

They have spent something like 250m over the last 4 years

I can take pride in the fact a team that cost a fraction of those tossers has over the course of a season played the better football and taken more points

"we are a cup team and a ****e league team. You can dig all excuse about we won the league cup or whatever stats, fact is we are are no better than teams like everton in the league. The summer will be ruthless for the players and the manager" - RAWK

Not that we didn't already know like but they've twigged on.

happy we ended above them, should keep them quiet in work for a bit and you can bet your ass they would have carried on about been above us if it happened no matter what they said or say.

It's not them I care about, it's us.

We bottled it when we were so, so close to silverware.

We bottled it. Yet again.

7th is good and I'm please for the extra few mil more than anything, but I'd have to be willfully deluded or have the memory of a goldfish to not recount the semi defeat. It hurt and it should not be forgotten. Because that result wasn't down to their expenditure, it was down to our lack of balls.

"So just another £800m or so to win the league.

As long as the owners don't **** up and do something stupid like listening to some of our [Poor language removed] fans who want the manager out, then I'll be happy.

£100m gross spent, £800m to go."

This is my favourite RAWK quote of the day.

*looks around, surveys what's gone before, weighs up the positives against the negatives, gives a brief smile and retires to the Ale House for the summer

It's certainly worth a chuckle, and infinitley better than not finishing above them.

I suspect the lap of honour may well have been the high point of the close season though.
