*sigh*

It's statements like that which show why there's so much progress to be made.

Why? How many gay lads have you played footy with? I never have done. Like i say, theres loads of them in work. One of them is the son of a former professional - who played in the premier league. - hes not interested in the slightest, none of them are.

If they are interested great, ive nothing against it myself. I'll talk to anyone about football. But in my experience ive never known it.

Or perhaps the reason why so few gay men play football is because they're put off from an early age by the rampant homophobia in the terraces and the idea that they shouldn't want to play because it's a 'macho' sport and gay men can't be 'macho'.

I know several gay men who are into football and/or play it. They don't talk like Louie Spence either !

Oh well then, that's conclusive evidence that no gay man likes football.

Used to work with a gay lad in the RAF. About as camp as you could possibly get but he was a f*cking superb footballer.

Just because you haven't seen something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Our right back's gay. He's the worst player in our side, though. Clearly homosexuals cannot play the togger.

Hahaha. Cant stand Louie spence like.

Anyway i know some gay men simply are gay but they dont make a big song or dance about it, some gay men want to tell the world and play up to it.

Up to the player. If they wanna come out sound. But i cant imagine the ones who dont make a song or dance about thier sexuality are going to want to wear multi coloured laces.

Fair enough, i never said it was conclusive. Just my experience. Maybe some of the lads i play with are gay. But i reckon they just want to get on with the game myself and not talk about thier sexuality.

Nothing against gays or anything but whats the point in this?

Why the desperation to get footballers to come out as gay?

Why is anyone arsed?

If they dont want to come out thats fine if there even is any gays playing. Footy is a macho sport and its not likely gay men would be wanting to play anyway - certainly non of the gays in work (and theres ****ing loads of them) like footy or even wanna talk about it.

Not something that needs to be campaigned about to be honest.

Oh good point, hadn't thought of that.

All gay men are far too busy mincing around their parlour, singing The Weather Girls and talking about shopping with a lisp to be playing football!
