Would be a slight worry that Brighton sold him for 1m when they desperately have needed a decent striker for a few years. Record at Coventry was good last season.

Wouldn’t really judge a young player on the team that sold them, silly way to look at it. Judge them on the player they are now not years ago, after all Chelsea sold Lukaku, Salah and De Bruyne for about £50m in total and now the three are worth about £250m or more.

It was 12 months ago and he was 23 at the time. He's kicked on no doubt but Brighton have their house in order on this sort of stuff. May turn out to be a world beater tbf.

agreed, we snubbed haaland (not that we were paying him) and look at he turned out

?‍♂️

Emailed Big Sam and Koeman when Lukaku was going/gone. Myself and Kingfisher Blue have contacts at Man City and Dzeko was over at the time. Spoke to the player himself who would have been interested in a Goodison move. { Evertonians can recover this info that we gave } The price was £18mill for a proven prem striker albeit about 32 at the time. Wages would have been accepted at 120k a week. No response back from either manager. Player went on to score numerous Champs Lge goals and still is. Lost opportunity in my mind. THEN posted on here about the free scoring Mitrovich middle of last year. Got responses saying he couldnt score goals for Fulham { think 3 } while they were in the Prem the previous year. No way was this guy going to be free scoring in a Fulham side in the Prem as opposed to an Everton side. Start of last season before free scoring in Championship about £12mill. Wages no more than 60k. Accept he was slightly over 30 but think two quality strikers missed at relatively low fees. Thoughts?

…Gyokeres might make sense if he’s the back-up, with a more proven option still on the shopping list.
But this guy wouldn’t be cheap so he’d just eat into the budget for the proven guy- Coventry aren’t parting with their 9 with the season underway for buttons I assume. And then you’re paying 4 strikers for one position.
