Let me make few pointers for people to think about

Rooney will put more effort than Lukaku
He has better ball control than lukaku
He will close people down more than lukaku
He will score more free kicks than lukaku
He will create more assists than Lukaku
Rooney will perform better in the big matches than what lukaku did.
Lukaku goals did he score because our team put them on a plate for him?
Or did he create himself?

Don't get me wrong lukaku goals we will miss, but what other aspects would we miss.

I think this is what caused my anger so much in 2004.

He is a Scouser and so was never going to be taken fully to the prawn sandwich brigades hearts.

He is not Cantona or a class of 92 member, or indeed Ronaldo.
He is a cog in a commercialised machine.
No longer required so spat out and forgotten.

He has broke records that have stood for decades at Manchester United but he will not be a revered legend.

Hopefully that will drive Wayne on to win something here. Be our Cantona, A maverick who got the ball rolling on a new successful period for our grand old team.

Box office to many Evertonians, most non Evertonians think the whole thing is embaressing for us - us giving them our best striker again and taking back our old past his best striker - that is the key story others are taking about on Twitter - not good for our image.

Most other fans don't realise that we aren't just replacing Lukaku with Rooney, there will be others coming in too.

The kopites can joke all they like, but they are flapping now with all these transfers, not that they'd admit it.

Also Rooney has a good goal scoring record against them.

How can Barkley not want to stay now, a local lad a manager that is committed to his project and one of the best players we have ever produced coming back, a great English youth contingent and very good signings coming in. He may struggle to get game time, but I'd want to stay to prove myself and be part of these potentially big big times at Everton.
