I kinda wish Heitinga would get a proper chance to prove himself under Martinez. I think he'll fit in much better with out tactics now than under Moyes, though it has to be said we would probably be better off with 10 players on the pitch instead of 11 including Heitinga when he played last season (harsh, but not far from the truth). If he played 2 or 3 consecutive games before january, I imagine he would prove to be good enough, though he would probably never challenge Jags or Distin for their spots.

We have better options, and I'm sure he wants to get playing time so he can work his way on to the World Cup squad. I think it would be best for all parties if ways were parted.

Good news !!! The way he's talking is that both will be going in January + 2 short term players coming in who I imagine he will have identified already.

On top of this 100k ish off the wage bill which will be reflected in the summer after the short term players depart.

Also, its possible that we may sign Barry in January and then free up a 2nd loan space....

Heitinga is apparently on 4.5mEUR/year (£73k/week)

Heitinga is on around 55k a week, Jelavic around 30k so saves us a lot of money for players who hardly play.
