Everton players on loan 2018/19

...yep, I posted that a few hours ago. I doubt he can be sent back in January, part of the article I read suggested Sociedad will need to find a club willing to take him for the rest of the season.

I can’t see a situation where he’s not back with us in the Summer and he’ll still have 2 seasons left on his contract. Brands will have his work cut out shifting him.

Can only see another loan with us subsidising his wages Eggs. Unless there is an amazing turnaround in the second half of the season. One can hope.

He works hard and puts in a mean cross from the right hand side. I think the appropriate phrase is he hits a heavy ball, or something like that. I'm wondering if it's worth giving him a try at right back in pre season. Some players have re-invented themselves when moved back.

Ipswich Town - Matthew Pennington played full match and was booked in 1-2 home defeat to West Bromwich Albion

OS Match Report
"Albion immediately showed their threat with Barnes leading a break, Matt Pennington doing enough to quell the danger. The Everton loanee then picked up a yellow card for a foul, Cole Skuse and Jordan Spence combining to clear the threat from the free-kick."

Twitter stuff
10' The Baggies have a free-kick 40 yards from goal after a tangle between Pennington & Robson-Kanu. Pennington booked. [0-0]
56' West Brom almost make it 2-0. Phillips flies past Pennington down the right before delivering an excellent cross towards Barnes, but his shot hits the outside of the post & goes behind [0-1]

Fan comments

"Negative: Pennington’s worst game I’ve seen"
"I thought he played well tonight"
"Pennington - good all round but for me not imposing enough at CB, would be better at RB"

Championship
Bolton Wanderers - Joe Williams played full match in 1-1 away draw at Millwall

OS Match Report
"A fantastic delivery into the area from Joe Williams found the towering centre half lurking at the back post, who did the rest by nodding home from close distance."

Twitter stuff
GOAL!!! ⚽️ @MillwallFC 0-1 Wanderers (Beevers 12) @JoeWilliams0812 delivers a superb cross into the box and @Beeves16 stoops to head in via the post against his former club. Get in!
.@JoeWilliams0812 comes up the pitch on the counter-attack and sees a pretty tame strike take a slight deflection, behind for a Wanderers corner that comes to nothing. (66) #Millwall 0-1

No particular fan comments about him apart from criticising him for shooting instead of passing at the end of the game.

Wigan Athletic - Callum Connolly came off the subs' bench in the 84th minute of a 0-0 home draw with Reading.

Antonee Robinson was not in matchday squad due to ankle injury (out for about a month?).

...I presume the Robinson injury is a legacy of the one he picked up on international duty. Decent feedback on Joe Williams, I can see him being in demand come the summer.

I was just saying on Gomes thread he might be an ideal partner for Gomes if we manage to keep him.

...well, it would be a massive step-up for Joe Williams if he’s ever to be a first teamer at Everton and the odds must be stacked against it.

If he has anything in his favour, I understand Silva likes what he’s seen of him. Also, without being unkind, I think he’s a bit nasty and footballers with that attitude do have a chance because of their determination to succeed.

I think playing alongside Gomes would help as he would learn so much. However your right the odds are against but I also agree that him being a little bit snide helps. We'll see what happens with the other midfielders in January. Personally I would leave at Bolton but if we get bids for McCarthy, Schneiderlin or if PSG come one of Gueye and we lose 2 of them we might need him back.

..I doubt we’d have power of recall in January, but I might have that wrong if there’s a clause in his contract. I can’t see a bid for Gueye being entertained in this window and Baningame is always an option. The summer might well see more churn.

We put clause in Williams loan it was only one we did. It's going to be another 2 months of speculation until that window slams shut!

Bolton Wanderers - Joe Williams played full match in 0-1 away defeat to Sheffield Wednesday

OS Match Report
"Joe Williams nearly had Wanderers equaliser with seven minutes to play, as the ball ricocheted to the Everton loanee on the 18-yard-box. He set himself and fired goalward but put too much on it, as the effort was sent wide of Wednesday’s goal."

Twitter stuff
Wanderers come forward on the attack after Adam Reach gave the ball away; @JoeWilliams0812 then tees Marc Wilson up for an eventual shot from 20 yards that was dragged comfortably wide. (18)
.@JoeWilliams0812 delivers a superb cross across the six-yard box that is dangerous but Josh Magennis can't quite get a toe on the ball. (68)
Another chance for Wanderers! The ball runs free to @JoeWilliams0812 who evades Barry Bannan before curling a shot over the bar from the edge of the box. (83)

Fan comments
"How come the one name first on the team sheet seems to be williams, for me he has created nothing"
"There's no creativity in our midfield, least of all Williams."
