See the part in the game where Mirralas was trying to close down 3 defenders on his own whilst Vic stood watching him. He honestly does not have a clue how to lead the line. Most of his runs are reactive rather than instinctive and again for me he does not work hard enough to put pressure on defenders , this then enables them to be comfortable with the ball and build attacks from the back. Vic will go through his career coming of the bench and scoring a goal hear and there but I don't think he will be a top first choice striker for any premiership side. Are you sure you are not basing your argument purely on last nights game ?

Yes I am mate, that was my entire point

As I don't think he deserves any stick whatsoever for last night, as he played well all round imo, but peoples negative opinions of the lad, are making it hard for them to admit that last night, he did well, you're striving to find negatives about a player who scored 2 goals in 50 minutes - because it's Victor.

I'm going to give Neville and Osman such a negative score it will probably turn out positive.

Jagielka had a good first half for me but fell to f*cking pieces come the second.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to chime in with my observations from last night -

There was NO co-incidence we looked a poorer team with Victor leading the line, there was also no co-incidence he was shuffled on to the right either. He nullified Mirallas completely with poor movement and passing. I think one issue we struggled more in the second half was Victor wasn't holding or distributing the ball so it was getting pumped straight back towards their strikers, who had been added to with Ba. We held the ball more in the first half and they couldn't touch us, there wasn't an issue with Neville cos' he was only needed as a link in the chain. As soon as we're losing the ball and chasing he was all over the shop, it was embarrasing. Victor's movement was just shocking, he never made a clever run and rarely played a clever ball, hence Mirallas and even Fellaini struggled as he offered them nothing in the way of making space or playing off/with them. Yeah he made himself a goal, he did well in that respect but my god are we a poorer team with him in the middle.

Honestly mate i'm not striving to find negatives,, they are clearly there for all to see.
Vic isn't going to be the player you want him to be just because he put the ball in the net twice last night.... his overall game is weak and that is his downfall.

Why is everyone having a go at Jagielka? I can remember about one mistake from him...but he hit the post, had a hand in the first goal, and played some great passes the entire match

Infact, just watched the match highlights, he hit the post, made a few good passes to Baines - one of which set up the first goal, had a great assist for the goal that wasnt, and he helped stop Ben Arfa scoring in the 85th minute when it was 1-1

The one where a pea roller trickled into the middle of the goal.

Must of missed Osman handing the ball over in our half, followed by the horrid marking by Jagielka>

Serious, watch the goal again and get back to me.

Howard was caught wrong footed but watch the ****ing goal.

Have you actually read my posts mate?

Howard was caught wrong footed but watch the ****ing goal.

Ba hit a cross shot that hit the net about 2 yards from the corner & was hit relatively slowly. Howard got his angles wrong & went down in installments, it was a poor piece of goal keeping - as was his star jump for Ba's second scuffed finish of the evening

If he stayed standing he could have stopped that with his foot. He had so much time to get down to the ball. Very poor reactions

The chance should have never came is my point. Osman and Jags are at fault for that goal.. That's my opinion..

The second goal was Howard being stupid.. "and poor marking"

Been saying since the opening game that jags over jonny is a joke, we can all see that now, but it is pointless, jags was even worse last season in the opening games and moiyes will not drop him, we will then probably lose jonny in january, how can a manager do so many good things at a club but still make so many obvious mistakes, utterly infuriating, the bantering ginger ballbag

certainly true to an extent but i honestly think this is what we all have to accept our starting fit 11 wil give anyone in this lge a game however outside of that the quality just drops to a level where we become disjointed, certain players the game passes them by and we look poor to watch....

we are gonna keep supporting them as we do but sometimes we have to let reality into our footballing life's
