Everton keen on Bristol City left back

Very good player.

I watched him live in the Bristol Derby in 2013, he scored the winner that night and not fazed in a intense derby at 20 years old. I think he'll cost double the quoted fee.

If I were him, I wouldn't leave Bristol for Everton right now. Bristol are flying, really good feel about the club, grabbing the right headlines. Wait until the summer and he'll have numerous options to choose from when the transfer merry-go-round starts if Bristol don't gain promotion. Why join the ongoing trainwreck that is Everton or Newcastle, except for the quick payday?

Also, as other have said, I see no reason whatsoever why Bristol would sell at that price anyway. I've only seen him play twice, so no idea of his quality, but if he's vital to Bristol's side then why would they sell him for buttons during a promotion chase?

Think this is a total non-starter for those reasons. £15m and throwing him £70k a week or something daft and, yeah, maybe.

If you have a source down here, then I would agree with their assessment. The Walsh deal confirmed that to me.

There are circles within circles in the admittedly footballing back water that Bristol is, but a few google searches might show a link or two that might sustain my admittedly personal opinion. As ever, just saying like.
I googled Bristol Sources but all I got was saucy Bristols

Typical Everton. We sell one of our best youngsters to Bristol City then two weeks later show an interest in one of their best youngsters. We’re supposed to have a scouting system covering everybody playing in England and a Director of Football with dossiers on everybody, wouldnt you think there would be a joined up approach where we say “ OK you can have Liam Walsh but we want Joe Bryan as part of the deal , and we’ll pay you ......”

How do you know this hasn't been discussed ?

I think that both Bristol City would want to finish out their involvement in the Carabao Cup before selling any of their players and that may happen this week. I am not convinced that he is a target of ours, but if he is there is lots of time to complete a deal.

We have been linked with Bryan for the last 5 years. Live in Bristol and had a city season ticket for 8 years and now had a Everton one for the last 2 years (Start to regret that). But anyway, the lad has always had great potential and is very similar to Baines of 4/5 years ago. Has been playing more left mid for city of the past 2 seasons but even at left back gets forward and likes to overlap. Would be a steal at 7 million and would definitely be first choice over baines now.

Well I don’t know it hasn’t been discussed , just as you don’t know it has.
My point is a simple one. Maybe we have no interest, but if we have we would have known about Bryan at the time of the Walsh deal, most competent clubs would have linked the two to facilitate an easier transfer.
