Well if they have...hasn't worked very well. Especially the bit that says we'll be OK in the summer where we could be spending a lot more. Fees could be a lot higher for us this summer.

They said we "could" be spending more, not "will" be. I realize everyone believes we're OK, but they won't know by how much. And I would hope TFG won't spend like drunken sailors in any case -- figure out a max on each potential incoming and stick to it.

Just going daft and spending whatever, could be risky. But at the very least we could overinflate our income stream from increased revenue, sponsorship etc so we have a basis compared to others that have “got away with it” as this is the seemingly arbitrary grey area and to me is where the wiggle room seems to be.

Baines wasn't from the Championship. Think the other 2 are the only 2 (for the first team at least) in 13 years or however long he was here.

Baines had been playing in the premier league over two years for Wigan.

Yeah Bent as well but he's had a season a few years earlier in the league, outside of that though you're looking at Beckford or Stones, one hardly played and certainly wasnt an important player and the other never played a game for Moyes

Yeah Bent technically, but he'd spent the season before playing in the PL same as Jagielka had. Beckford was League one but yeah same principle I suppose.

Beckford made 38 appearances in his season with us. Not sure he was hardly used.
