Besic and Rodwell would be in central midfield. Hyped to the max and both crap. Godfrey would be one of the centre halfs.

To be honest, I liked Besic. His injuries were ultimately his downfall. There are a handful of players mentioned here I rather like, Robles being a prime example.

That's valid I was operating on more initial expectations in contrast to how he performed but yeah I'd still take him here

I'd have to say John Collins was very much up there for me.

Slavan Bilic was a huge hype train. What a big disappointment he was.

In more recent times, Vlasic had such a hype after leaving us, don't think he carried the hype he had off us.

Wasn’t it just some sort of accounting scam? as Peter Johnson was involved with us and Tranmere.

From what I've read we didn't pay anything more than about one million for him. Still too much like as he was crap. Nobody ever bought a good player from Tranmere!

I considered Bernard, but we knew about his record coming over from Shakhtar Donetsk - 14 goals in 90-odd games? Hardly set the Ukrainian Premier League alight.
