Everton hire Forest Green Rovers Performance Analyst

NEA who he supports as long as he does his job well. FFS, are we only allowed to have Everton fans working for the club?

Is this some sort of wind up, I mean do Forest Green Rovers have a sports analyst.

I thought they were all like Milkmen, taxi drivers and window cleaners.

You're way off. They've been spending enough to be running at a loss of around £2.5M-3M per year all covered by a very rich and ambitious owner and as they've been outside the Football League they haven't been subject to FFP rules.

Most of the clubs in the 1st tier of Non-League are fully professional outfits with FT playing staff. The other staff may, at some clubs, be made up of PT and graduates looking for a window into the football business but it's just as competitive and seriously ran as most higher ranked leagues. While there are some PT players at that level (Newly relegated Southport for instance) you'd probably have to go down another division or two before it's mostly posties, teachers, plumbers and window cleaners.

There's quite a few of these type of clubs at various levels of non league and it's beginning to make it impossible for more traditional amateur outfits to compete. It's the reason that non league teams getting far in this years FA Cup lost a bit of charm for me as those that do are almost always fully professional outfits.

I am surprised and you're right, I was way off.

Nothing will be the same.

*headhunts staff from a non league team*

lol lol lol

We are a joke.

5 minutes of basic googling will show you this well educated young man who is going to work in a data analyst role was previously employed by a very smart and successful entrepreneur who probably isn't in the habit of employing people who aren't excellent at their jobs. The fact that the club he was working at were in the Conference is not really relevant.

Or is the analysis of data, maths and statistics completely different in the Prem? Are you going to rage if the person selling you a half-time pie hasn't worked in The Ivy?

5 Minuets of basic googling also comes up with the fact that he recently changed his twitter handle from 'coutinhosnutmeg' after he was appointed to Everton, yes it doesn't matter that he is EX Red. But do you think that is a handle of someone who is a well educated young man? Pretty childish if you ask for my humble opinion.

His economics degree is probably what led me to assume he's well educated. It's no twitter handle of course but perhaps my lack of knowledge in these matters and inability to gauge relevant information are why I've never become the head of recruiting for any FTSE100 company.
