You scouse b******,build a bonfire, sign on, sign on, hubcaps, bindippers, not in any way defending a minority of our support, but this kind of diatribe goes on all over the country wherever we play, and has done for years, I still recall an incident at the Old Filbert Street Leicester, late 1990's,maybe early 2000's,coins were coming flying from the corner of the Leicester fans adjacent to the Evertonians ,they were giving all the above abuse about the area we are from and it was also going back in the their direction, a number of these lads in the Leicester end were of Asian descent and dishing it out, always remember a fella in front of me losing his rag and dishing it out to these Leicester lads, he got frogmarched out by the police/stewards and I can still recall him saying,"What about what they've been calling us?" I couldn't in any way condone what he had come out with, but to my mind you can't have it all ways, regionalisation to my mind can loosely be termed racism if you are on the receiving end of it too.

That bold part highlighted is something I've been stating for years to friends and colleagues.
I think I get my its perfectly acceptable in the eyes on the British media/law to sing 'You scouse bsttttrds', 'Sign on' etc?
This is a very emotive subject and I hope I put myself across correctly below, but it seems it is only offensive if you refer to a place where the colour of someones skin isn't white:

Scenario A - Change the word 'Scouse' to 'Korean'/'Caribbean'/'Congolese'/'Aborigine'/'Indian' in that chant and there would be uproar all over the media.
Scenario B - Change the word 'Scouse' to 'Russian'/'Scottish'/'French'/'Yankee' in that chant and it would be ignored.
See the pattern there? You are not referring to anything other than the country/place a person may be from, but scenario A would stir things up more in my belief.


As a comment against the accusation from the OP: I was there last night and never saw or heard any chants at all - in the seating area or in the concourse before the game or at half time. I was sitting about 10 rows from the united fans in row 29. I'm not saying it didn't happen, but it must have been one or 2 people if I, nor other people around me, couldn't hear any offensive chanting. I smell BS if I'm being totally honest.

Heard from my work mate this morning (Utd fan at game last night)that some of our away fans where extremely disgusting disrespectful last night in regards to the Utd lot.

I know we all like a bit of banter but to make remarks/ gestures about the Munich air disaster is totally shocking and not Everton like!!!
And all that where there should
Hang your head in shame.

On top of that a number of others thought it would nice to spit at fans

Utter disgrace.
