There's different fund raising pots all over the place. The pound text thing is a different pot to the stuff collected offline, the justgiving one is a different one etc etc. All told it stood at about 500k before your donation. Everton's remarkable donation has took it over the line. You've no idea the feeling up in the NE this morning on the back of this. unbelievable

honestly mate this has everton hearts prouder than the three points
it's a great feeling to be part of a club like this

Been reading the Sunderland forum and saw this posted

"I have to say, no surpises Everton were the club that did this, out of any in the Prem. Since I've been going to games they've often done things worthy of respect e.g. Around hillsborough. Well done."

Good to see that our club has that reputation, not just within our own set of fans but elsewhere.

Oh and this was also posted by a guy who I understand is his uncle

"I'm sure @Speedy1976 said the fund was for the treatment only and the family would still need to pay for flights and digs, so hopefully that is now sorted. They will also need time off work I would imagine, the less stress the better as they're dealing with enough.
Speedy 1976 - That's pretty much it. Whilst out there living costs are also incurred.
Hotels, food, etc. He will be in and out of hospital there so he can't be expected to sit in a hotel room all day. So days out, little treats, everything adds up. So it's vital we keep going. The work is far from done."

So hopefully people will continue donating even though the charity has reached its initial target.

A few Sunderland fans seem to be taking issues with Sunderland not acknowledging this as an outbound message on any of their platforms.

Does seem a bit odd...

The fund stood at 500 grand. Your club's magnificent gesture has hit the 700g target. As a Sunderland fan, I've never understood the concept of supporting a second team.

Over the last twenty four hours I've been reeducated. Truly truly humbling. Mind if I stick around?

Sure, hopefully you and a few more visiting Mackems hang around. We'll need some updates on Bradley.

Absolutely marvellous this donation. Yet another of very many reasons to be extremely proud of Everton.

We do seem to have an awareness of community / humanitarian issues that other clubs, in their bubble, simply do not.

The drivers behind this at the club are clearly very decent, caring people in a world where you sometimes doubt that enough of them exist.

Massive well done to all.

Rudolf,

Per the Beeb article on the family's reaction to Everton's gift:

The family has now raised in excess of the £700,000 they need for Bradley to have antibody treatment in New York, but still need to raise more to cover the costs of any complications.

Mrs Lowery said: "We have now put the money down for the treatment, but the fundraising definitely needs to go on.

"If it turns out Bradley doesn't need all the money that is raised, it will be given to someone else who needs it."
