Everton are small time...

I expect further evidence of how small time we are will be demonstrated at the AGM, it's not even a rollercoaster ride with Everton anymore, just a continuous downwards spiral to anonymity and mediocrity.

can here bob elstone now 'unfortunately we ran out of ink, printing off the renders of our proposed new ground, BUT we will be buying new ink after the summer transfer window when weve made enough coin to buy some and are able to print them out, afterall , the ink is very very specific special ink'

Given we were bought by a certified chartered accountant none of this should be a surprise.Unless his Russian friend jumps ship from Arsenal and joins him our fate will be (if we are lucky) to be one of the best of the rest.

this ^^ in bucket loads..

we are owned by a certified chartered accountant NOT an oil rich country.

bit of a difference.

we will not be competing with the top 6 let alone the top 4 with this man in sole charge of our football club.

If small time is being the 7th biggest club in Britain then we are small time. What can you do, if we were able to pick and choose when to be free of debt and to be able to buy players then we could have been Blackburn. (of course without the steep decline afterwards) As it stands there is no way we can compete with the top 3 clubs unless we have a Usmanov/Buffett or Gates in charge. Our only glimmer of hope is there is an outside chance of getting Usmanov.

why would he watch us struggle by with our finances when he could invest right away, if he had any real plans of coming here he would already be here.

why are we still trying to find the funding for our stadium, when if Usmanov was here he would quite literally be able to solve that issue, not necersarily on his own, but with all of HIS connections.

it quite obvious that Moshiri doesn't have the same connections as Usmanov

He has the same connections but less money. When they were at Arsenal they released a joint statement saying that the stadium should not have restricted spending like it did, could be he was on about the SPV he intends to use here. Men with lots of money didn't make it all by giving lots away. Businesses are bought by taking on debt that then pays dividends later down the line, see the Glazers at utd for an example. Imho Usmanov will only come here once things are in place and looking up, he's gone from a position of he will never sell his shares to he will sell to the right person. Whether we get to that looking up phase who knows, both men are in their sixties and one or both could check out before we get anywhere.

.... but we pay 30 mills out and 100k wages for bang average players all day long now how can we be small time?

last window i think ppl forgot (me included) we are a mid table club. moshiri is a fkn fraud, just the way he conducts himself in interviews ive seen. seems like a spoiled rich kid whos just inherited dads money

we still could compete, if only we were well managed. There are plenty of examples from recent past and current trends to show that you don't have to buy your way to titles, you can also manage your club cleverly. There will be a time when there is backlash to the 'franchise-style' situation in the EPL now, where you could just go anywhere, and there's no local difference between clubs. Really it's now possible for a player to close their eyes and pick Spurs, Arsenal and Chelsea depending on their form and not their history. You'd go to Man City ahead of Man U or Liverpool despite the history and track record.
Eventually people will look for an 'authentic club' with great fans, tradition, character and style, where you can get maybe just 50k Less than the other clubs, but you can compete with the best, win a few things, develop, and maybe end your career in one club. PLayers and fans , particularly new US and Asian fans will look for a club which also makes them look cooler and better - you don't always want to just support the last team to win the title.

One disadvantage we used to have was the city, but now the city's players all stay with the Manchester players in exclusive Cheshire anyway, so how does it matter.

A well run business can definitely definitely close the gap and make up for lower transfer fees and wages.

Never felt so down and indifferent supporting us than at this moment in time. Selling our best players, replacing them with rubbish, appointing Alladyce, the stadium news being another obvious smoke screen of nonsense, Moshiri being an absolute tool, losing all the time. I'm just accepting defeats and no shots on target as the norm now. We are small time as.

Wait until the toxic West Brom game, we will get beat on Sat, no real stadium news tomorrow, iffy start at home to West Brom and just wait and see.

That's the spirit...

You don't have to go back far to remember it was worse, much worse. We couldn't afford loan signings at one stage a few yrs back. The glory Kenwright days they are remembered as.
