We're obviously getting a discount on Rooney the other way of about £10-12m over the next 18 months, so £75m would be about right.

It does come across terribly seeing Lukaku go for way below what we've apparently been quoted, while at the same time we take their worst striker as his replacement ... despite our activity this window if we don't sign a much better striker than Rooney between now and start of season there will be anger amongst the fans at this.

Gut reaction is disappointment with the fee given the fuss and supposed Chelsea interest. In this market its not an enormous amount of money for someone with his record.

I would have thought that the midpoint between £70m and £100m would have been fair, and that leaves us £10m short.

It is what it is though. Lets spend every penny and be as strong as we can be for the season to come.

Hopefully there are add ons built in.. or they have waived what we owe for Morgan (couldn't spell his surname!!!)

Poor from the club in my eyes, we're in a position of power and yet we've dropped 25% of the fee? Why accept such a low figure when we said previously we want 100m? £85m would've been a much more positive figure to come out of it with.
