I never want us to get beat by anyone no matter what it means to others, even them. I can not sit there hoping we lose ever and i will always be that way. If it did happen, and we lost you know it would have a side effect, but i would not straight out want us to lose
...a choice between Everton winning three points - which usually contributes toward a nothing season for us - or us losing and preventing Liverpool winning a title.

Let me think... 🤔

But they weren’t in a fight with them for the title last season and you still wanted us to lose?

Did I?

Why would I want that?

You'll have to show me why I'd want us to lose against a Chelsea team who weren't in a title fight with them...

Yes, if Chelsea were in a fight with Liverpool for the title I'd want us to get beat.

Just to be clear about it.

Any Everton fan worth their salt would agree with that.

Deserved at least a point against the PL/Sky chosen Champions for this season, should be no fear at all against these. Massively out of form, fans not aligned with the manager whose novelty has worn off and everyone now realises is a decent, thoughtful coach but talks a load of joss stick induced garbage. A team of some fantastic individuals with no direction or desire. Star players saying they “don’t know what the future holds” regarding being there next season just because they didn’t win the CL. Some of them now see the season as over and are busy looking at apartments in Europe.

At some point we should trust our superb keeper, back 4 and one sitting midfielder to do what they have done for a while now, and the rest have a bit of a go when going forward. Not sure this is the game for that, but it never is. Will be waiting forever. Get all over them straight from the start.

No surprises if we win

Chelsea’s easy ride proves Everton’s point

It is with rich irony that Chelsea’s first Premier League game since being fined for breaching financial rules during Roman Abramovich’s ownership should be away at Everton, the club the Premier League made an example of when reinforcing its authority over disobedient members (except the wealthiest ones who tried to join a European Super League). Cheat for seven years by making illicit payments totalling £47.5m for players who help you win two Premier League titles, the Champions League, the Europa League and two FA Cups, and not only do you get to keep those trophies but you escape with a fine of £10.75m and a nine month academy transfer ban. If you’re Chelsea. Breach financial rules by £19.5m over a three-year period while taking out loans to build a new stadium and losing sponsorship deals owing to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and you receive a 10-point deductionreduced to six on appeal. If you’re Everton. The Premier League wanted a 12-point punishment, don’t forget, which would have pushed Everton closer to a relegation that could have triggered administration. Evertonians were condescendingly dismissed as conspiracists when accusing the Premier League of operating a two-tier disciplinary system in 2023. This week they received confirmation they were correct. Andy Hunter

Palmer readying himself for one of the two games in the season he will turn up for. Tudor haircut having little gorm.
Lifting the world cup for England in the summer is just about the only thing he can do to make me not dislike him. If he can even be arsed enough to get on the pitch.

In fact, forget it. Just smash him Tarks.

I cant ever remember Andy Hunter questioning the PL points deductions at the time. He just reported the bare facts of it all.

So much for his Damascene conversion to outrage over the PL hit job.

The Premier League gains kudos from English teams doing well in European and international competitions. To punish those teams would be an act of self harm. Therefore the body which gains the most from the success of these teams shouldn’t be the body which is in charge of punishing these teams when they break the rules. An independent body should be set up to oversee the rules and regulations, it shouldn’t be people connected to the Premier League, it wouldn’t have to be football people at all provided it was well advised by people who have the best interests of football at heart.

They should read this out over the PA system after Z Cars plays. That'd get the crowd going.
