Looking at the way Palace get men behind the ball so quickly, which is aided by our slow play, I think this game is now impossible for us to win. They’ve conceded 3 goals this season and we haven’t got a full back who can attack or a striker who can get in to positions (or hold the ball or carry the ball) regularly enough to create any pressure. Zero chance of us scoring 2 goals.

City and Spurs next. All of a sudden looking over our shoulder after a bright start.

One of the big problems is Palace want you to try and play into the wingers feet from the fullback. They pinch in and double that and force you back. We of course have no plan except to do that.

Nah, it's bad but there's loads of bad teams in the league this season. We'll end up in roughly the same position we've been in for the past few years. It's dreadful to watch again, though.

You'll need nearer 40 points this season I fear - we've been so lucky in recent years.
In two games we are almost a quarter though the season on 8 points....

I predicted us finishing 12th this season. I still reckon we'll be there or thereabouts but I could see us being a bit lower. I don't reckon we've got anything like that amount to spend this January but if we're not looking at new fullbacks after seeing how effective Palace's have been today then I give up. The contrast is so stark.
