Not sure about that, I think we have made him that way with the way we have treated him. Goodness knows how we are feeding his confidence on the training field. Players come to Everton and crumble.Yeah, mate. I chalked it up in the beginning to nerves. But we’ve completed an entire half. He should be better after 45’. Now I think he might’ve been a standout on a poor side that looks exposed on a club higher up the table.
Get Barry off at half time and get Alcaraz on as a three in midfield with three up top. Dibling and Grealish coming inside and Ndiaye down the middle. Move the ball through the channels quicker with those three up front moving around.
Soooo much space in that midfield. Feel we almost need to put another midfielder in there to tighten it up.You know it's bad when Michael Keane is the best Everton player on the pitch
We've also given Warton way too much space, at one point he walked the ball forward about 30 yards without being closed down
one team played midweek, one team didn't
guess which team will be stronger?
Nah, they look alright because the quality of the bottom half of the PL has diminished. There absolutely is not, quite the opposite.
15 16 games unbeaten is a fantastic record ,we have to try and knock them out of there stride somehowThe really annoying thing is that the flavour of the month teams that hit good form (Forest, Villa, now Palace) aren’t even amazing. Not loads of superstars creating utter magic. They are just highly organised, and very competent at what they have chosen to do.
No idea what we have chosen to do.
I don’t think that is a Grealish problem. More of a Moyes problem. Have to adjust.Hot take; I think Grealish is becoming a problem rather than a help in this team. Playing him on the wing and not getting men around him is just isolating him. He’s to slow to not have men around him making runs off him. Move him into the middle and put Ndiaye back on the left.
All we’re doing is going Jack the ball and with nobody around him he’s just getting doubled up on. It’s making us very static and taking away any attacking impetus from our other attacking players. I’m not surprised he’s created the most chances or something in the league. Nobody else in our team is allowed to touch the ball in the final 3rd
Play the ball forward quickly... Nobody in the whole Everton team is able to do that without 5 touches of the ball.I am absolute sick of Pickford and the rest of defence aimless hitting the ball long to absolutely no one. Palace play the ball forward quickly and accurately and move forward as a team. Our players are continually scared to pass forward or through the lines. Gana is still awful in possession. Garner continually turns and plays backwards when he has the opportunity to play forward. We are finding it impossible to get Dibbling into the game. Every player takes to long to pass it forward and all of our options disappear. We’re just not a good team. Too many average players.
Fair play to them, I guess. They came to play proper ball today, and they brought their A game. But its bad and Palace arent bad, excellent coached team.
We aren’t that bad though. I think a lot lies at the feet of the manager here. Moyes got Grealish and he became his one trick pony. You work him out pretty fast.I think the quality of our players has been overblown, tbh. We've still got a mediocre squad and a pretty average manager, imo.
