You have never been allowed to pull hair!
And nor should you be if it’s deliberate. I don’t think there was any evidence at all to suggest that Keane was being deliberately violent, or reckless, or doing something inherently dangerous though. On that basis ‘the games gone’ shouts are valid, because we’re at a stage where VAR looks at things without any context or thought process and treats them as a standalone issue (in slow motion). Areola nearly knocked gibbs white out cold yesterday and didn’t even get booked, but (seemingly accidentally) grabbing hold of a piece of hair is a red card offence?

So what's his red card classed as?

Violent conduct …

That’s the category … same as if you went and flocked someone’s nose , or a gentle slap in the face … pulling hair is a red card it’s that simple .

Not saying I would class that as violent or assault if it happened on the street … but there is a reason players don’t pull other players hair … it’s because you will get sent off .

That striker has been playing all season … has any other defender grabbed all of hos dreadlocks ? Nope… because they aren’t stupid

You can’t pull someone’s hair in any walk of life. Certainly not on a sports field.

Grealish got two yellows for being an absolute bone head.

I can’t believe some people are contesting either decision. The ref was left with little option.
Pulling a bit of hair should be a booking. It's not violent conduct. If Keane came through the back of him with the classic elbow in the spine whilst winning a header then it's only a booking. The elbow in the back is a lot more violent than grabbing a bit of hair for half a second.

I don't dispute that it's stupid but come on it's soft as sh1te. Not a red card unless he was preventing a goal scoring opportunity as a result.

Why wasn’t the ref at least sent to the monitor for the Hwang challenge on Armstrong?

Looking at the hair grab and that, if you were to show both incidents to anyone and asked which was a red card, it wouldn’t be the Keane one.
Exactly. The Hwang challenge could result in an achilles tear whilst what on earth are we talking about pulling a bit of hair for a split second in comparison.

One could significantly impact or even end a player's career whilst the other could result in having to brush his hair.

Which one is violent conduct?

Serious advantage to be gained by having all our first team players growing their hair long; all the pulling at corners / free kicks / throw ins, all it takes is one accidental tug, we’d be quids in!
