I don’t know how I feel about this one, we couldn’t beat Wolves who would appear to be the worst team in the league and we had two players who would be first choice playing. Tomorrow we play a better side and we are weaker, it doesn’t bode well for us. But we are Everton whern we are expected to win we lose so maybe when we are expected to lose we win.

Sadly I can't see a win here. Our starting line up today would probably be a relation battling team.

Sunderland are pretty decent and will bring a lot of travelling fans.

You never know though. Everton are so inconsistent.

….with our 3 most creative players missing I find it difficult to see how we’ll score. Maybe our best chance of a goal will come from McNeil’s set piece delivery.

With Keane out, O’Brien will have to revert but I can only see us weaker defensively at RB so there’s very little positivity going into this. Maybe Rohl can be tried at RB but I fear for us if we concede more than one.

All that matters is getting in the draw for the next round, maybe a low scoring draw and penalty shoot-out is our route.

Big game, up the Toffees.

Come on Dwight you're our only hope

Creativity at its lowest for a while today. Maybe since Allardyce. Understand that a lot is enforced with injuries, suspensions and AFCON but we're down to bare bones. I wanna see what Campbell and Graham are about, see if they can hold their own. Won't happen though I suspect

Agree with some of this mate - I think the AFCON players will feature, I don't really buy into the "Tiredness" malarky. Some of the AFCON players have hardlys played and wll be raring to go. The Leeds game I agree with, the Brighton game I presume you mean? I don't agree, we could have easily have won that with a decent striker on the pitch.
I agree we did give it the all against City and thus looked poor against Spurs in the first half. There certainly wont be wholesale changes as you mention, there will be a mixture of returning AFCON players and squad players, you try telling Xhaka he is rested! Ha.

I am also really looking forward to the game, love away trips to Everton. However have more faith in our team, I aint getting up at 5-30am just to be a negative nancy or i'd stay in bed, cheer the lads on as you mention, and be positive!

With just under 8,000 travelling down, I do hope our management team have more faith than you or it is pointless us all travelling. Ha

It’s not that I don’t think we’re in with a chance. But this thread is writing off their chances cos they’ll have to rotate their squad. I’m saying that we’ll be rotating too, and it’s anyone’s game.

I was down at Brentford on Wednesday and Xhaka and the entire team needed a rest - painfully obvious how knackered they were. And I’m sure we’ll see that today. Potentially AFCON trio on the bench, but maybe not with the travel and lack of training. We’ll have to see.

Should be a good one anyway. Hopefully our away support can actually generate some noise for once, was pretty crap at Liverpool and Spurs recently! And always found big allocations can be quiet (Blackburn most recently from what I remember!)

Going to my first fa cup game since 2000 today. Moyes was playing for preston that day I seem to remember. Was really excited when I booked it in December, but this last week really knocked my expectations on what should have been a very winnable tie. Fingers crossed he somehow uses Wednesdays game to get them up for a fight. Or Sunderland don't turn up.
