Fulham was the best performance, but if you remember the game Garner constantly moved central, Gana and KDH both Moved to cover the gap.

Look at our last game, Garner moved Rb after O'Brien red, and you still saw Garner all over the pitch, even up the top of left side of the pitch..
Yes but that’s exactly the point! He’s able to offer a real outlet and give us a much stronger right side than in basically any other setup because of how bad our RB options are.

12 games left mate, no competitions, this has to be sorted in the summer.

We complain about Moyes sticking players out of position, yet how many people still go on about moving the linchpin of our team out of the middle..

If you want that, you cant complain about Moyes's tactics.

I think the lynchpin-ness of Garner in central midfield is overstated.

Courtesy of a limp early exit from the FA Cup, a time honored Everton tradition, it feels like an eon between league fixtures. Not helped by our next game being selected by the munchkins at Sky for their Monday night match. Looking forward to Jamie Lar providing pre-match 'analysis' about anything but the match in hand.

Manchester Utd at home. A fixture with rich history and a mixed bsg of results, particularly in the Premier league ers. What Everton will we see? The battling, defiant Everton channeling their inner big Dunc and snarling their way to a 1-0 from a corner? Or maybe a tight game with Everton undone by moments of quality (think Beckhams free kick)? Or, in keeping with more recent times, a hesitant comedy of errors Everton gifting chances and red cards in yet another embarrassing home loss?

Personally I reckon it'll be a tight 1-0. This utd side are routinely called awful or the worst in a generation, but somehow they occupy a champions league spot. I don't think this will be an easy game, especially as less vaunted opposition have given us the runaround at home all season. Moyes to channel his inner conservatism and grind it out.

Gaving said that much depends on the team selection, with Moyes sparking the ire of many by playing big Jake at right back at the expense of, dare I say it, a slowly improving Patterson. With O'Brien out it screams for a specialist right back, but in true Moyes style we may see a Rohl or a Garner shoved back there. Which arguably only serves to weaken midfield. Ho hum, only time will tell. Expect full pre-match rage from some quarters no matter what.

Come on Everton, send those braving this after work home happy and make their Tuesday a bit more cheerful.
Great pre-match intro, Chico-esque in moments.

Like our glaring holes at FB and CF, just a couple of withering insults of opposition fans and the Premier League, and this was a winner.

I personally will enjoy Moyes trying to emulate the same formation that Amorin did for the old United and squeezing in an extra centre back to avoid Patterson.

Then we will all fume for 3 hours and get a last minute winner when it gets abandoned and we have Beto score off the bench because a clearance hit him in the head

Aznou is worse than Mykolenko it doesn’t make Mykolenko a “linchpin”
So it's quibbling over semantic interpretation?

I'd agree Mykolenko isn't a linchpin but I disagree that Garner isn't. None of the other midfielders we have are anywhere close to his level of ability or well-rounded skill set.

KDH is probably who I would choose to put next to them but I don't even rate Merlin Rohl. He's only played about five minutes total.
