Courtesy of a limp early exit from the FA Cup, a time honored Everton tradition, it feels like an eon between league fixtures. Not helped by our next game being selected by the munchkins at Sky for their Monday night match. Looking forward to Jamie Lar providing pre-match 'analysis' about anything but the match in hand.

Manchester Utd at home. A fixture with rich history and a mixed bsg of results, particularly in the Premier league ers. What Everton will we see? The battling, defiant Everton channeling their inner big Dunc and snarling their way to a 1-0 from a corner? Or maybe a tight game with Everton undone by moments of quality (think Beckhams free kick)? Or, in keeping with more recent times, a hesitant comedy of errors Everton gifting chances and red cards in yet another embarrassing home loss?

Personally I reckon it'll be a tight 1-0. This utd side are routinely called awful or the worst in a generation, but somehow they occupy a champions league spot. I don't think this will be an easy game, especially as less vaunted opposition have given us the runaround at home all season. Moyes to channel his inner conservatism and grind it out.

Gaving said that much depends on the team selection, with Moyes sparking the ire of many by playing big Jake at right back at the expense of, dare I say it, a slowly improving Patterson. With O'Brien out it screams for a specialist right back, but in true Moyes style we may see a Rohl or a Garner shoved back there. Which arguably only serves to weaken midfield. Ho hum, only time will tell. Expect full pre-match rage from some quarters no matter what.

Come on Everton, send those braving this after work home happy and make their Tuesday a bit more cheerful.

Great preview mate! ;)

3-0 United

Their new manager bounce is coming to an end; draw in their last league game against a poop West Ham.

2-0 to the good guys; 0-0 at half time, we’ll score around the hour mark and then put it to bed late on with a counter attack once the game gets stretched as they search for an equaliser. Barry with the first and Illy with the second

Really?

I thought a straight red was three?
1-3 matches depending on the reason for the red.

1-match ban: For denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity (DOGSO), such as a professional foul like tripping or holding an opponent through on goal, or deliberately handling the ball to prevent a goal chance.

2-match ban: Typically for dissent (e.g., abusive language toward the referee or extreme arguing).

3-match ban: For serious foul play or violent conduct (e.g., reckless or dangerous tackles, elbowing, kicking out, stamping, punching, pushing, or other aggressive acts). And, of course, pulling hair. But only if you're an Everton player.
