This team had a great opportunity to do something this season in the league, but they’ve thrown it away so far with no shows v Leeds, Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal. I can take losing to City where we just got outclassed after giving it a go but in the other games we just didnt even turn up.

and it shows when you have no goals in your side is 75% of why

That would be true if we had a good summer window. We didn't.

The rebuild is not all that far along after Kinner's 66% failure rate...

Whenever we win the ball on a counter, the immediate thought of every single player in the team is to pass it backwards immediately and we usually end up going to Pickford to kick it long. I’ve never seen a professional team so utterly averse to turning on the ball and running towards goal when the opposition give us the ball high up the pitch.

You are out the team if you give the ball away.

You think that was a no show?

A game that basically sums us up, a keep the scoreline down against the big boys, we have a risk adverse manager playing safety first football, we will always get results against teams around us and battle to brave defeats elsewhere, this isn't a dig at Moyes bit there's no way he is going to change, personnel, tactics, formation, he will always stick to his trusted formula, the outlook at the whole club has to change, start looking outward instead of inward,

Pick a centre half for motm, went with Tarky ,thought he did quite well.
Better 2nd half, I know there is a desperate call for a right back , but when you see the talent in our midfield and we don't have a striker who can flourish, that has to be priority ??. Not one of the two we have, would get into any other premiership team.
A half decent striker who moves and knows how to play up front, and we get something tonight.

If , and it's a big if we were trying to win the game this was a terrible performance.

If we were trying to get a point and / or keep any loss to reasonable proportion then this was ok.
That is the problem and always has been with the mindset of our manager against the "big boys",he is quite satisfied with a 2-0 away defeat to Chelsea and a 1-0 home defeat tonight,we are comfortable in the table but we will never really threaten the top teams with him in charge I'm afraid.

Well we didn’t try to score at any point or even trouble an Arsenal team that didn’t really play well themselves. Both teams just seemed happy with a 1-0 loss for us. I expect Everton teams at home to have a go against anyone. Worse Everton teams than this have beaten Arsenal at Goodison multiple times.

We never looked like scoring and you do wonder where the goals are coming from with Ndiaye and Dewsbury Hall not available for the next month or so, having said that the game swung on a penalty that was looked at for ages whereas the two penalty shouts on Barry were just brushed under the carpet with a cursory glance.
Still don't k ow why they took so long with that. If the ref missed it, one var look would have told you Jake caught it...

There is no interplay or plan up front at all, we really don't have a way of playing.

We get lucky sometimes, other time's we don't.

It's tiresome, but at least we're not in the bottom 3 I guess..
