But not surprising with Tom Bloody Davies
To be fair to Tom, he wasn't the only one. Liverpool are excellent at giving you no time and we were pressed very deep. At that point you have to be sharp, fast and accurate or you lose possession and are straight back under pressure. Being generous, the sluggishness maybe due to not playing for ages. Some heroic defensive performances though.

Watching without the canned crowd noise gave a proper sense of the artificiality of this restart, just seems meaningless although there's always more on a derby. Echoing voices in a cavernous chamber, the derby that meant little other than pride and bragging rights, the players looking off the pace being understandable considering the circumstances and the long break.

We benefitted from Carlo having so much time to organise and drill the team, he got it spot on tactically considering the personnel available. The woodwork (only just about) denied us in the end but it shows just how good a tactician and planner Carlo is.

Tbh I've never been less bothered about this fixture.

Only 2nd team to take a draw off them, alright some circumstances but we got absolutely merked against Chelsea before the break.

Have not Liverpool endured the same time off? Davies always looks desperate keeping up with the pace. Coleman was fantastic.

Ha ha, people on here arguing with each other about the match as if it meant anything at all.

These matches are the football equivalent of when you come back to school from the summer holidays and you've forgotten how to write because you've been feral for six weeks

If I was a player I would be try and not get ill or injured for the next few weeks. It's pretty much a training match and this proves it.

Sky completely showing a bias to them, from the pre match build up to those little YNWA segments at half time. It's basically brain washing.
I have to grudgingly admit that Carragher gave an honest, unbiased opinion after the game and admitted Carlo got the tactics spot on and we probably deserved to win it with the chances created towards at the end.of the match.

Most soulless derby you’ll ever see that...

Plus point is we look well drilled and really stifled their attacking threat.

Coleman dominant at the back, Holgate looked classy, great shift from Richarlison and DCL looked sharp despite not having much to work with

Really unlucky for Davies with that attempt against the bar. Looked like it took a slight deflection and on another day that would have been the winner.

Didn’t feel like a derby though. This restart is a load of nonsense really isn’t it?
