Good Newcastle defeat for us there but Sunderland beating Spurs was bad news.

4 points separating 6th to 12th. Unbelievable.

We really should have gone for broke second half yesterday. Brentford looked lost at the end of the first half.

somewhat pessimistic, or we go on a great run and have lots of great nights away on the continent and at bmd, maybe win a trophy and attract better players, and get into a better european competition as a result

Said it a while ago. I felt we would end 12th with a chance to sneak into top 10. Hopefully because of were we are we can get that euro place and not end up the lower of the bunch of teams all close points wise by the end of the season. Think we need to win about 3 games i would say to get Euro place - (I did predict 4 wins from final 7 including yesterday)

i think if we can win the home games and pick up the odd result away we should get over the line

but we probably have a better chance of pickingn up wins at palace and spurs

I know a palace lad of similar age to me that happily declares this had been the best year of his life .

Look how average the teams in the final stages of this years Europa and Conference league are, if we were in either of them i feel like they would comfortably be our best chance of a trophy, both far easier than the domestic cups (unless you luck out with an unusually easy run).

That said, we're Everton, so quite possible we get snotted by some random bumblesquat team from Malta or something.

What’s the actual difference in finishing 15th or 9th ? I mean I get financially to I rarely get excited about the state of the clubs spreadsheets . I did however have a ball in some far flung destinations in past decades from the 80’s to the 90’s and into the 2000’s . glorious times that will likely make up many of the stories at my wake and I made makes in Iceland , Ukraine and elsewhere that I still bevy with today .

I’d highly recommend it personally, glory for me thanks.

in theory maybe but its not that straightforward

you have to take the opportunities while you can

theres every chance we come 9th, sign some better players and improve

but theres every chance that sides who have underperformed also improve and then finish above us that following year. whether thats signing new players or a new manager, likes of newcastle, spurs, palace, west ham, forest etc (whoever stays up out of them)

say brentford and Bournemouth get europe this year, maybe they sign even better players and keep hold of thiago and rayan for another year

liverpool and chelsea get in proper managers and are in proper champions league or even title form

we could end up havingn a better side next year but finish 13th

we should not be picking and choosing when we get this. football doesnt work like this

and if we’re going with predictions. mine would be lets get into the conference league and win that, maybe our league form suffers but we stay up and are in europa

then we go and win that

then we’re in champions league and have the squad to compete on all fronts

it’s all conjecture… lets just go for it and enjoy supporting everton
