As for tonight.

As Rangers are now out...

Progres Niederkorn will now play winner of St. Joseph's (Gib) or AEK Limassol (Cyp), where the first leg finished 0-4.
Videoton of Hungary progressed 5-3 on Agg, and will play the winners of Nomme Kalju (Est) and Torshavn (Fai) where it is 2-1, with the away leg in the Faroes.

As a result, these are possible sides we COULD face, due to the fact they'd be unseeded regardless of their opposition in the second round.

@EFC78

The first round - 50 ties - resulting in 50 winners joining 16 teams in Round 2

The 33 winners join 25 teams (including Everton) in Round 3.

The 1st Round was drawn with 50 seeds playing 50 non-seeds, the winners assume the ranking of the seed for the next 2 rounds as the draw has been made in advance of earlier round completed.

What matters for Everton is:

1. We are assured of seeding in Rd 3. Ranked 13th of 58
2. The projected seedings for Round 3 will be more easily assessed once Round 1 has been completed, next week - then the Round 2 ties will be known and it will be possible to see how many of the 33 winners from Round 2 will become seeded in Round 3 (our round) and unseeded. I could give you a lot of either/or scenarios.

3. We cannot play:
(already qualified)
Zenit St. Petersburg, PAOK Thessaloniki Gre, FK Krasnodar Rus, Panathinaikos Gre, Athletic Bilbao Esp, AA Gent Bel, Girondins Bordeaux Fra, Austria Wien Aut, Maritimo Funchal Por, Sporting Braga Por, FC Sion Sui, Fenerbahçe Tur, PSV Eindhoven Ned, Olympique Marseille Fra, SC Freiburg Ger, Sparta Praha Cze, AC Milan Ita, Dinamo Zagreb Cro, Lech Poznan Pol

Also we cannot play:
These teams starting in Round 2 (or any team they might lose to):
Mladá Boleslav Cze, Galatasaray Tur, Astra Giurgiu Rom, Hajduk Split Cro, Apollon Limassol Cyp

Nor any of these teams starting in Round 1 (but, if they lose (in Round 1 only) we could face the team that beats them):
FC Midtjylland, HJK Helsinki Fin, Maccabi Tel-Aviv Isr, Dinamo Minsk Bls

So - the list of teams we COULD play is as follows:

Joining in Round 3:
KV Oostende Bel, Arka Gdynia Pol, Dinamo Bucuresti Rom, Universitatea Craiova Rom, FC Oleksandriya Ukr, Olimpik Donetsk Ukr

Winning through from Rounds 1 and 2 - this is the 2nd Round draw:

Not the teams I mentioned above - or their opponents

Östersund (SWE) v Galatasaray (TUR)
Maccabi Tel-Aviv (ISR) or Tirana (ALB) v KR Reykjavík (ISL) or SJK Seinäjoki (FIN)
Zirä (AZE) or Differdange (LUX) v Astra Giurgiu (ROU)
Ferencváros (HUN) or Jelgava (LVA) v Midtjylland (DEN) or Derry City (IRL)
Hajduk Split (CRO) v Levski Sofia (BUL) or Sutjeska (MNE)

Haugesund (NOR) or Coleraine (NIR) v Lech Poznań (POL) or Pelister (MKD)

Shkëndija (MKD) or Dacia Chisinau (MDA) v Connah's Quay Nomads (WAL) or HJK Helsinki (FIN)
Stjarnan (ISL) or Shamrock Rovers (IRL) v Mladá Boleslav (CZE)

So, the winners of these ties MIGHT be unseeded.. the higher up this list the more likely to become seeded for Round 3:
You can see that the teams you asked about are projected to (possibly be seeded) - will know a lot more after the first round is complete.

can we split in 4th qual mate?

As for tonight.

As Rangers are now out...

Progres Niederkorn will now play winner of St. Joseph's (Gib) or AEK Limassol (Cyp), where the first leg finished 0-4.
Videoton of Hungary progressed 5-3 on Agg, and will play the winners of Nomme Kalju (Est) and Torshavn (Fai) where it is 2-1, with the away leg in the Faroes.

As a result, these are possible sides we COULD face, due to the fact they'd be unseeded regardless of their opposition in the second round.

Rangers result was entertaining but is irrelevant save for the possibility of a weaker side progressing to our round. Since the 3rd Round draw, where we enter, is based on the initial assumption that the seed in round 2 progresses our opponents will be drawn from a pool of teams which will be either (1) unseeded Round 3 entrants, (2) seeded Round 2 winners or their unseeded opponents where the seed was projected to be in the pool of non-seeds for Round 3 and (3) all those winners where the highest ranked team in the 2nd Round match was already unseeded for Round 3.

The only things that matter right now are: (1) Whether any those handful of Round 1 seeds projected to be seeded in Round 3 should fall in Round 1 - their opponents inherit the seeding for Round 2 (already drawn) but for round 3 the highest ranked team playing in Round 2 will be designated an unseeded position in the 3rd round draw and that would ONLY alter if some Round 1 seeds fall . (NB the 4th round draw is entirely dependent on Round 3 results, being made after Round 3 is finished). On Thursday night I will give an update.

My earlier update indicated that only 10 2nd Round ties could result in 3rd Round seedings. This number may be reduced if certain teams lose in Round 1 in which case the make-up for Round 3 alters a little bit. As I said before it all becomes a lot clearer after the 1st Round is complete and we know the exact make-up of Round 2 and where the winners of those ties would sit in the 3rd round seedings. Obviously there will be ties in Round 2 where the unseeded team becomes our opponent but we will know if the 3rd round draw gives us an either/or scenario or not.

Dinamo Minsk - due to be seeded for Round 3 and held to a 2-1 home win by Faroese side (thanks to amazing 86th min. consolation free-kick) are now down to 10 men. If they lose AIK Stockholm become the side projected to progress from round 2 into seeded section of Round 3.

Thus far (17 results) 7 first round seeds have fallen, with one winner inheriting the seeding for Round 2. The other six are the unseeded opponent (at the moment) in the 2nd round. None have had any (known) real effect on us save for the possibility of a set of opponents with less experience in Europe than the original projection before the 1st Round started.

All the 3rd Round seeds have made it through (bar some sort of disaster for Midtjylland)

So the draw for the 2nd round will be known later but the seeds for Round 3 are as you were (with the either/or scenarios if those still to qualify from R2 fail). The interest for us will lie in who will be in the non-seeded side. Details in a bit.

As a non Old Firm supporting Scot, I did have a good chuckle at Rangers elimination.
I hope we give this a proper effort. The prospect of a second avenue to the CL is an opportunity too good to be missed.

Details of Round 2 draw and Round 3 situation (the 52 possible teams we might meet - though the draw will reduce that to 6 possible teams (some as winners of 2nd round ties)

Id just like to avoid a trip to somewhere thats a nightmare travel destination.
Sturm Graz, Larnaca, Brondby, Aberdeen maybe?

If all you are interested in is where we might be going on a jolly then the following countries have the below amount of representatives in the 52 sides we could face -

3 sides - Norway, Slovakia

2 sides - Bosnia, Sweden, Luxemburg, Cyprus, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Israel, Austria, Slovenia, Lithuania, Ukraine (both sides definitely in the draw), Romania(both sides definitely in the draw)

1 side - Croatia, Switzerland, Finland, Estonia, Hungary, Poland, Denmark, Serbia, Albania, Scotland (Aberdeen), Malta, Holland, Montenegro, Belarus, Ireland (Cork), Bulgaria, Liechtenstein, Greece, Iceland, Latvia, Belgium (already definitely in the draw), Poland (already definitely in the draw.

So the Euro tour could still pretty much start anywhere, however we'll know better next Friday after the draw when it'll come down to 2 as they will have only have played the first leg of the 2nd round (unless we get a side who are definitely already through)...

It's bound to be Slovakia, Bosnia or Ukraine... personally would love a trip to Cork..

If, admittedly that's a big if, UEFA dish out the groups for the draw as equitably as possible, as I just did with a simple cross check whereby the seeded teams are loaded 1,2,3,4,5 and back 10,9,8,7,6 to make each group equal in strength (they do do this frequently but tinker a bit to avoid some same-nation clashes between seeds and non-seeds) - then, take this with a pinch of salt.. I predict our possible opponents to be:

FC Oleksandriya (Ukr)
Progres Niederkorn (Lux) or AEL Limassol* (Cyp)
Trencin (Slov)* or Bnei Yehuda Tel-Aviv (Isr)
Sturm Graz* (Aus) or Mladost Podgorica (Mne)
Vaduz (Lie) or Odd* (Norway)
Arka Gdynia (Pol)

* seed

But, like I say, that depends on UEFA not shifting the groupings around a great deal and putting us in pot 3 with these seeds

Galatasaray (Tur) or Ostersund (Swe), Sporting Braga, Astra Giurgiu (Rom) or Zira (Aze), FC Sion (Swz) and Shkëndija (Mkd) or HJK Helsinki (Fin)
