You know what's changed since yesterday? Absolutely nothing, as Leicester's progress in the CL had absolutely no impact on 7th qualifying for EL in any way what so ever.

how? i suppose one of the 4 would be taken up by fair play league as well which could mean the max would be 5+3, i don't understand where the 4th would come from. If united won EL and Leicester won CL, 4th place would then go into the europa along with 5th place, so that's only 2. Whilst United and Leicester would enter alongside the top 3 and 7th would have missed out then.

ah sorry, thought you meant 5+4 was possible this season. UEFA are gigantic idiots, fair play, we made them look like absolute mugs by finishing in the top 4 whilst also finishing above the CL winners in the same season. ... and they hadn't even thought of making a rule if such an instance happened. Ridiculous how nearly half of a league can be in europe in the same season.

Reading that I get it now.
Top 3 would get CL
Europa winner gets CL
CL winner takes 4th place spot
- 5 CL teams in total

4th gets an extra European place in europa.
5th gets standard Europa spot
Fa cup gets standard europa spot
League cup gets standard europa spot
- 4 europa teams max.

It's now established that 7th will get us into the UEFA cup, so the only danger now is us slipping up and allowing West Brom or Southampton, who could still mathematically finish above us . . .
If West Brom win all their 5 games, they'd be on 59 points
If Southampton win all their 7 games, they'd be on 61 points
So it's down to us now, currently on 57 points with 5 games to go, to nail it asap.
We currently need another 5 points to mathematically secure it with 62 points, unless of course, Southampton and West Brom shoot themselves in the foot by dropping points, thereby reducing our 62 point finishing line.

Looking forward to a couple of European jollies next season !
