You know what's changed since yesterday? Absolutely nothing, as Leicester's progress in the CL had absolutely no impact on 7th qualifying for EL in any way what so ever.

NopeIt did if they won and United won the Europa League.
Not true. Max is 9.How do you figure? had they won, they along with top 4 would be CL, but only 5th and 6th get EL as a country can only have a max of 7 teams entered

No you can only have a max of 5 teams in the Champions League.

Do we not still need a top 4 FA Cup winner?
It's possible to have 5 + 4.
See page 23 of this thread.how? i suppose one of the 4 would be taken up by fair play league as well which could mean the max would be 5+3, i don't understand where the 4th would come from. If united won EL and Leicester won CL, 4th place would then go into the europa along with 5th place, so that's only 2. Whilst United and Leicester would enter alongside the top 3 and 7th would have missed out then.

We couldn't have got 9 this season. 8 was max as things had gone. But in theory...
If CL & EL were won by teams outside of Europe qualification we'd get 5 CL spots as you said.
However the 4th place in league wouldn't take an existing EL spot. It's actually an extra EL spot.
"3.09 If the UEFA Champions League titleholder and the UEFA Europa League
titleholder come from the same association and do not qualify for the
competition through their domestic championship, one of the following scenarios
applies:
...
c. If the association is entitled to four places in the UEFA Champions League and
neither titleholder qualifies for the UEFA Europa League through its domestic
championship, the lowest-placed of the association’s UEFA Champions League
representatives is automatically transferred to the UEFA Europa League (into
the UEFA Europa League group stage and the access list will be rebalanced
accordingly). In this case, the association of the titleholders is entitled to one
additional place (total of five) in the UEFA Champions League and one
additional place (total of four) in the UEFA Europa League."
