Oh the achievement to get there... fair enough. But I think the scenario where we miss out on a EL place because of Leicester winning the CL.....

Should be an interesting game tomorrow though. I fully expect Sevilla to go through.

Even if they do win it, it's got no bearing on us has it?

If Man U win the EL it has no bearing on us deffo.

No mate it doesn't, England would just get 5 teams in the CL. We would have been the 5th team the season we finished 4th if we would have got through because the rule changed to let Liverpool back in it

You know what vexed me the most about all that? The fact they were 'invited as a guest of UEFA' and given no country protection, yet we had to split the prize money 5 ways.

I always wandered how there was no rule to allow a champion to defend it's title, when that rule existed in the old European Cup? What was the reason to abandon that rule after forty- fifty years?

The arrogant presumption that all clubs who win the CL will also be finishing in the CL places.

The fact it happened make a totally mockery of the tournament.

i like that we showed them up for the idiots they are. It annoys me that they then used that as a stick to beat us with and we ended up with the hardest draw possible and a suspect well known ref coming out of retirement purely for one game and making a massively suspicious decision.

Think that was the beginning of the end for me with regards to football. My love for everton will never dissolve, but the sport is pretty much dead as a sport, it's now a highly commercialised business containing play acting and numerous laughable controversies.
