Are they definitely more talented than any of the 3 teams they played? France is a no, they were a bit unfortunate with Romania so that was probably about even and Croatia is tight as well.

Didn't say they were more talented but they are damn sight more worth than picking up 1 point, especially considering the bulk of the squad made the semis 2 years ago
Bloody Hell what a save that was 
It's tricky to say how many clubs refused to release players so that may have unbalanced the squad. There's also the fact that a couple of the better players from recent years have moved to the senior squad and are big misses.
Quite like this Waldschmidt for Germany; proper throwback to the old deep-lying centre forward.
Spain vs France this will be a cracker.
